Wow, what a meltdown. It seems like both the pitching and hitting have really fallen off the past few games. Even the Sunday game vs Charleston, I thought the team made a few silly mistakes that made it seem like they weren't all there. I hope the team isn't having chemistry problems.

I heard that 4 freshmen pitchers are hurt; all with the same arm injury. No mid-week pitching, obviously.

Did Alger toss out the first pitch................. and kept pitching?

Huge weekend series @ UNCW who I thought coming in would be the biggest threat in the CAA but they are 13-18 (2-4 CAA). Hopefully the Dukes 18-14 (3-6) can use some momentum from the Richmond Win and take 2/3 and put ourselves in a good spot to make the CAA tourney.

Dukes down 2-0 in the third. UNCW pitcher is cruising and we cant afford defensive mistakes. Lets get the bats going!

I had a chance to talk to the father of one of our players last spring.

He did not have good things to say about the way our administration managed the baseball program.

Don't know what to think of the recent losing streak after a nice start by the Diamond Dukes.

7-1 Hoos going into the 7th. Bad 2nd Inning for our Dukes with 10 players coming to the plate and UVA scoring 5 runs.

The blowout loss to Liberty might not be as bad as it seemed last week after they took down #5 UNC last night.

7-2 Final on the other side of the mountain unfortunately. Streak continues..

Just when I thought JMU baseball was getting good they bring me back in.
I still think Ike is going to be a good hire, but it's pretty obvious we are going to need some time to turn this ship around. I got pretty excited early in the season, but the reality is we just aren't there yet. I'm not convinced we'll be there next year either.

The offense's hot start to the season masked a lot of problems with pitching and defense. As the offense has cooled, the mask was exposed and so came the losing.

Going into tonight's game, JMU was 221st in the nation in team ERA at 5.70. Against an RPI strength of schedule that is around 230 (out of roughly 300 teams).

Ike has got to sign and develop some pitchers. Though, by no means has this team dropped off the map with regards to this season solely due to the pitching and defense.

JMU isn't scoring. During the losing streak I am seeing a lot of games with less than 3 runs. Not going to win many games with that run production.
