Could season ticket holders designate areas for "sit down fans"? That seems odd to even suggest. But a "safe place" for folks that want to sit. I understand if you're elderly or have a condition that doesn't give you the luxury of jumping up and down and such and that might be frustrating.

I think a great place to start is with the music. Dr. Trevino really needs to consider a revamp of the music flow. Kids don't want to hear that same stuff game after game, sport after sport. I hate to praise anything done in Richmond but one thing VCU gets right is you can still attract alumni dollars while at the same time giving students with an atmosphere that is fun for them. College basketball should be about the students and we just don't get that at ODU. And I'll leave it at that.

I think there is a focus on being inclusive to all and in turn it makes our focus very vanilla. They don't want to upset the natives (long time season ticket holders that like to come and sit and enjoy a good game). You don't want it turning TOO rowdy and you lose some of the wholesomeness that is family oriented event.

I think out of fear of having "students gone wild" it is what it is. I've never been to a game at Duke, how are their students in that regard?

I think you can engage the students with a theme that is current and "pop culture" without it being vulgar or out of control. I really liked what Grand Canyon was doing. We have a really growing arts scene in Norfolk with a lot of great DJs.

Think outside the box. Have a local DJ for each game or pick 1 per season as the spotlight. That person gets exposure and who can promote better than local dj's and party scene people?

Then at the end of the season that DJ has a end of year Senior Night party at the Ted. Make it a glow show. I can put them in touch with plenty of people that could make that happen.

First 500 students get in free. But let the student org's handle it with some guidance/oversight or it'll probably flake.

Simple solution: Rows A-J are designated as sitting areas only. If you want one of those seats, pay up.

If we are truly a family environment, I hope everyone keeps their pants on at all times 03-wink
