Question's you have to ask yourself about Donnan

Where was he when we got in hot water ? (Yes Pruett turned us in)

When here how much did he raise twards the school ?

And the biggest

How far into the future could he take us ?

If you want me to answer those questions truthfully I will Kenny

The fact is most big-wig Big Green Donors didn't like Donnan because he lacked good social skills. He was a VERY poor fundraiser and often insulted fans and donors without realizing it (or maybe he did). He was a decent coach on the field, but not the type of leader we need if we want to elevate the program.

Kenny, give it up. They are not going to agree with you.

I am not stepping into the stuff about allegations of Donnan's getting us into trouble. What's that saying about not throwing stones and glass houses??????? Like we haven't been in trouble since.

I doubt Donnan would even consider it but I personally smile when I think about it.

You can say what you want about him, but the man knows his football! 04-bow

Really, how many times has a head coach left and then returned later to coach? No to Jim. Maybe Snyder, maybe Keuck, ...... I wish I knew the best choice.

Obviously...to them allegations are allegations...and once a man does something wrong, he's always going to.

The whole jobs for props program started under Donnan, and thats a fact Jack! Donnan was a decent football coach and does deserve a lot of credit in helping to build the Herd's program. His time is past. Donnan was a very arrogant, condescending person that had very poor PR skills. He had most MU fans pretty upset with his criticizing of attendance. He would be terrible in a fund raising role or in any sort of PR role. As I said, his cocahing was decent, but not superb, tended to get VERY conservative if we had a lead and many games we ended up fighting off someones comeback bid because we quit doing what was succesfull(ie Boise State 1993).

Mark Snyder is the clear cut choice in my opinion. He brings everything we need to the party. A respected coordinator at a major school, an alumnus, has local roots, has a proven track record AND he wants the job.

I'll get behind Kueck for now and even in the future if he is the choice, but Snyder is and has been my choice to succeed Bob all along.

kenny you're the only one really lobbying for him. I said I wouldn't be upset with taking him, but I'd take Mark Snyder in a hearbeat.

i could be wrong but wasn't one of the reasons he lost his job here and the main reason he lost his job at georgia was because he couldn't win the "big games" or rivalry games. i always remember watching games under him when we would have the superior team but it seemed like we always were outcoached by youngstown, appy st., etc.

Donnan might not be a bad choice. I can see why people would want him and why people wouldnt. He did a very good job at Marshall then did very good when he took over Georgia and made them a consistant top 25 team. He was able to win. On the flip side our troubles started with Donnan but then again it continued through with Pruett so Pruett is in that same boat as well. It doesnt mean neither wasnt a good coach. Who should we get? I dont know but a nationally well know coach could do wonders for the University and really propell the school forward.

Donnan didnt lose his job here he left to take over Georgia. What was Donnans record at Marshall and how many times did we go to the playoffs and play in national championship games? Do you think those are easy feats to accomplish? Marshall was fortunate to have a coach like Donnan lead the program to where he did. He did a great job.

The Donnan not being like by donors is NOt just a rumor......if you ever see Marshall Reynolds out in public, ask him his opinion on Donnan. He has no problem talking about Donnan with anybody :)

But like noted....using the Jobs for props against Donnan really isn't fair when most do not want to hold Pruett responsible for allowing it to happen after he came here. Both SHOULD have known what they were doing was sketchy at best and against NCAA rules at worst, but both turned their head while the assistants went out and recruited jobs for props.

We'll see what the big-time donors have to say about that.
