I don't see Rob going anywhere and I am unsure of phone ringing. I do need to apologize to Avery. He has done a fine job the last month of the season. I do hope we have a quicker guard on the horizon but I would go into battle with Avery leading us. Good Luck fellas go shock the World

Next season two threads will be started per game. One for discussion of the good, the bad and the ugly. The other marked...

I look forward to being engaged in both.

I think Avery has developed over the year. What people forget is that these players are learning. Kris Brewer as a Sophomore had less skills than Kris Brewer as a senior. I do think Avery's development had a big deal to do with the Flashes' improvement. Last year, he shot 24% from the field . Up until the Toledo game, he had more 0-2 and 0-3 games than he had games where he shot 50%. He only shot better than 50% once, 3-5 against the bad MVSU team. Toledo and after, he's been shooting with more confidence, topping out with overtime against CMU
I do see a progression of tough guard play over the years. This year it was Edwin, driving the lane in traffic, and I think Avery and J-Walker learning that. Last year, it was Cancer and Pollard driving, and Edwin learning by seeing. Before that, it was Pollard seeing what Brewer and D-Jack were doing. I hope we keep that up, and Avery and J-Walker have 2 more years, with Peterson learning.

I guess this is the kind of crap that proves my point - back to back posts on the Akron board where they essentially want Dambrot fired or serious changes made to the program. Overreact much? You can either justify it that all fans do it (and continue to look like idiot Zip fans who want their coach fired after making the MAC title game in 9/13 years) or get on board, be supportive and encouraging, and enjoy the ride. It could be much worse.

Yeah - I'm sure if you asked an Acorn fan if he'd like a new coach to reach the MAC Championship game 9 times in 11 years, he'd take it. Well, Dambrot's on that streak. Those other seasons, he lost in the semifinals. I don't like him because he's the Acorn coach, but I do acknowledge he's the best coach in the MAC now.
The next best teams over that 11 years are Ohio, Kent State, and Buffalo with 3 MAC Championship game appearances

I do understand their frustration though. He seems to be very good at winning close games during the regular season and early rounds of the tournament. Then in the finals he seems to go the other way. It's probably is just one of those things but if I were an Akron fan I'd be scratching my head as to why it keeps happening. It would be silly to fire him though.
