A top 50 finish is outstanding for our young program. If we can somehow get the QB situation in good shape, this team can be quite good next season. Of course, the schedule is a lot tougher too. If we can avoid a screw up against Albany (it will be our QBs first start ever) and avoid tripping up on the road at UMass I'm optimistic about bowling again, even if we get losses against UNC and VT.

However, I still must take both polls with grains of salt as they have us ranked ahead of NC State.
As much as we improved over the season, I see no scenario in which we could beat NC State, short of a catastrophic event that would cause them to forfeit.

Have to agree. There are any number of teams rated below us I would really question our ability to beat.

NC State should have beaten Clemson.

We are ranked signifcantly higher than Notre Dame in a somewhat credible season ending College Football Poll.

ODU has come a long way no matter how you slice it...

While I don't believe that the Sagarin algorithm(s) is accurate when commingling FBS and FCS, this is otherwise much more representative of reality, IMHO.

Yeah, that composite is what I look at the most. It muffles a lot of the noise.

That looks pretty good. I think it has us close to where we should be.
There are some issues I have with that one as well. For example. when all was said and done, I think that USF was the best team out of the AAC. Outsiders doesn't reflect that, but Massey does, as does Sagarin.
Both of those reflect the entire AAC, IMO, much closer than does Outsiders.

Of course you can nit pick any of them.

USF being the best team in that conference would be a hard sell on me. That defense was atrocious. They also didn't play Houston or Tulsa and benefited from a weak divisions while getting a layup in the bowl season.
