RE: Georgia Southern's dream boy....
Too good not to share... From esteemed contributor Winston Zeddemore over at Coastalfans.com I think most of us over in Conway hope this isn't far from the truth.

The following is a transcript of the secret meeting that took place in Moglia's office as he and Jamey Chadwell discussed the move to Coastal Carolina

Moglia: Here (extends hand out to Chadwell)

Chadwell: (kisses ring) Thank you

both sit. Moglia behind his desk

M: Let's get some things straight. No more "wheelhammer" crap. It sounds like a double dare, stiff cocktail, or the name of a Rush album. Leave that garbage in that high school stadium in North Charleston. Got it? This is FBS football. Know what that stands for? "Faster, Bigger, and Stronger"

C: Is there room in the playbook for the option?

M: First of all, you had the option of taking the big boy leap to Coastal or staying at CSUHS. Secondly, if points are on the board, do it. A lot of people are floating the idea of you as the head coach in waiting. That big toothed guy at the Post and Courier is trying to make this sound like that. Let me tell you something . . .

C: I used his tooth as a white board during a time out once.

M: You will be the janitor in waiting if you can't follow instructions.

C: Understood

RE: Georgia Southern's dream boy....
For the record, we will run a spread option. probably not too different than what we've seen in the past except we may favor the run a bit more. Chadwell says he believes that we need to be physical at the line, use the run to control the game, but utilize the athletes Coastal has in the passing game.

And, just cause some of you found Joe so entertaining during the Sun Belt transition pressers... Or if you wanna see how Chadwell conducts himself... Question of HCIW is CLEARLY addressed.

Associate HEAD coach, guess CCU leadership saw no need for time to reform the delinquent Chadwell. Rokamortis your school has officially sold its soul....welcome to the dark side. 03-nutkick

Yes, associate head coach. To paraphrase Moglia - 'it's a title, that's it. I don't believe in HCIW titles'.

I wouldn't have selected him but don't have a problem with it. Some schools, including yours, had enough concerns with him that they wouldn't give him the HC job and hired others with less proven results. He had to step down to OC to get out of CSU somewhat gracefully. As senoreida said - we get all of the benfits of him as an OC and non of the issues of him as a HC - he's immediately distanced from that. So a fresh start - should be interesting to see how he handles our offense - I bet he improves it a good but and that's saying something as we've had a pretty good offense with the former OC.

Yes not taking him really worked out for us.... not all decisions made mean they were the right one. Which schools hired less proven results coaches the Air Force coord that was a Furman grad that Furman hired or the the guy that went 40-8? He is also going to a FBS team now not a FCS one.

Keep spinning bro it all good. Just know you are just like the AL fans that trashed Saban at LSU then are building statue of him now. He is the same guy and will be the same guy two years from now. Just like Saban is the same guy he was at LSU. You trashed him up and down and your own coach disputed just about everything you trashed him about. So who is right you or your Coach? Because it is not the same guy. I just listened to the interview and like your new associate HC that will be in charge if anything happens to your coach said dont believe everything you read or rumor you hear. Also dont get so butt hurt that you believe every bad thing uttered about a program or coach. You have a good chance to beat us next year and I promise I will not bring back up the type of coach CCU hires in your words.

Yes I have no doubt since his offenses owned CCU for the most part he will make you better especially if he brings most of his staff. Like I told you from the beginning you are getting a good coach glad you will agree now that he will be helping you win instead of kicking your butt.

Hey brother, ease up a little. I don't think he meant in any way to disparage your program for passing on him. Most of us are aware we have some level of preconceived unfavorable notions of Chadwell, and regardless of where the "who's to blame" tween him and CSU admin falls, we figure he owns some of it. I think Rok pointing out that he went 0-3 in HC looks the last year and a half, and "settled" for an OC gig acknowledges that others (maybe including your program too, who knows) agree he had some image things to work out.

We may have disparaged him for actions AND beating our butts, but we're also aware of the talent he possesses and the environment Moglia will have him under wraps in. Hopefully a fresh start and valuable mentoring will leave both Chadwell and CCU in better places down the road. Personally I think he jumps to bigger things after a couple years success, rather than stick around Conway. We will see. But there's nothing wrong with giving a guy a second chance, if you believe he's in the right environment. Coaching, like playing, is a business. Makes no sense to hold forever grudges, or call out people for moving past them.

Let me fill you in, ya boy started a thread awhile back asking why us GS folks were so enamored with such a low life. He basically ran him down in every area but the football field where he owned CCU. So no his deal was not that we passed on him it was were considering him at all. Sorry he will not be honest about that. Now that he is on the CCU staff he is trying to twist and bend his words but its all there. I wanted Chadwell and thought the random CCU guy that was making him out to be B Petrino 2.0 was wrong take it with your fellow CCU fan. I think its a great hire, just about ironic as it gets for homeboy. A second chance? What the hell do you have proof of? I am so glad CCU is giving such a low life a "second chance" that is funny, how nice of you lol. Yes it makes no sense to hold a grudge and guy deserves a "second chance" just about the time he is on your coaching staff....perfect timing. Funny how I never heard all this before today from CCU fans.....you guys already have the Bama mentality at least. I bet the minute he leaves he will be back to a low life in short order especially if he takes a Sun Belt gig.

Yeah, Joe can get on tangents... But if you skip ahead a little... The tone he laid down about the expected relationship removes some of the "red flags" worry for me. Being in the same media swath as CSU, and having been an opponent... We were exposed to news/rumors/CSU player attitudes/his own on field antics (call it immaturity) with rivals etc that honestly left many of us with questions. I'd even say that 100% of us wouldn't have wanted to touch him with a 10 foot pole if we were talking HC like some of y'all were. There were indeed facets of his tenure at CSU that won't fly here.

But coordinator is a different animal. Joe's control and fingerprint on the program is a different animal. Most of us will be watching closely. If some of you can't appreciate that difference, oh well. And yes, we are all aware we are a stepping stone to him. Some y'all act like we're just that naive bc we're new to the party.

As for the individual line item Rok called into question that seems to be the real hang up... taking risky players and/or resulting APR... It's a moot point for us, a NON FACTOR. He's not inheriting a bad APR here, nor in charge of it, nor needing to take on some of the same caliber student athletes (including bottomed out FBS transfers aplenty) he had to in order to make CSU/their terrible facilities work. So it's not that worrisome to me that we can be dismissive of it.

I don't have a dog in the fight, but just allow me to say one thing. Just because Moglia, Chadwell, the AD, Karl Benson, the Pope, and Lee Corso himself say that there is not a "head coach in waiting" deal with JC, doesn't mean that there isn't one.

Carry on

Spread option is the term used to describe Ga Southern and Ga Techs offense generally. Many do not know this. Watching film of Chadwell's offense at CSU, I'd be prepared to favor the run game a whole lot

Good point. But I do I think they are going to try to be as balanced as possible - just Moglia's philosophy.

Ladies and Gentlemen I present to you consistency

Hey, I didn't realize you have some sort of man-crush on Chadwell - my bad - be a dismissive dikwad if you want.

If you want to trust your program to him then so be it - I wouldn't want him anywhere near my program. A coach that does the bare minimum with APR to hold onto the lowest possible APR score he can have without incurring penalties may be fine for you guys. All praise Chadwell!!!

Sure, some coaches take a risk here and there - others try to base their career on it. Again, I don't think it is a good strategy but if you guys like it then you should have hired him. Obviously there are no red flags to hiring Chadwell, you guys just whiffed on him. oops.

Not so much, but consistent with the new spin. Good luck rehabilitating the low life! You guys are just wonderful giving him a "second chance". I am still trying to reconcile all your HC remarks about Chadwell and yours because they were complete opposites. All good, can you keep us up to date on his rehabilitation and how he is progressing to meet the high CCU standard from the lowly days at CSU?

He met APR and raised it where it was before he got there. Just a case of the LSU Saban vs AL Saban. AL fans thought he was the devil at LSU for beating them now LSU fans think he is the devil and AL fans are building statues. CCU was getting owned by him and had no problem running his name in the dirt now that he is on the staff he can somehow reform and become a model citizen. When he leaves he will go back to being a low life typical college stuff.

I've been consistent in my remarks. You've been consistent in your drivel as well.

I'm sure you also found during your exhaustive research where I said I wouldn't have hired him. But it is what it is - can't do anything about it. Hopefully he works out well for us.
