You must not remember the history of Malzahn. Malzahn was the OC for that Auburn national championship team; so he only went to Arkansas State, because Auburn didn't fire Chizak. So ASU didn't get Malzahn a high profile job. Malzahn was going to get the Auburn job anyway; all he had to do was wait for Chizak to be fired. I even think that Malzahn may have even turned down other high profile P6 jobs to go whore Ark State, because everyone knew that Chizak was a dead man walking at Auburn and Malzahn was going to be his replacement.

To ASU fans it doesn't matter that Freeze and Malzahn might have "pimped" StAte to get better jobs. Sure our fan base wishes that they had stayed longer than the one year each but there was no way ASU was going to be able to compete for them against the money from a P5 school. So that's ok. At least they each led ASU to a league title during their back to back stopover in Jonesboro. And in doing so they built a winning foundation while showing other talented young and up coming coaches that they too could go to ASU, win the league title and be able to move on to a P5 job of their own one day.

And now ASU is looking good with winning five Sunbelt titles out of the last six years. So ASU fans no longer care about "one and done" coaches. As long as they keep the winning going it is fine with us. And add in that as each coach has left the school for bigger money his buyout to leave ASU has gotten bigger too. Right now Andersons buyout this winter is $2M so if another school wants him that is fine by ASU. We will just use that money to rebuild the coaching staff even better.
