He did win 4 PGA events. Only 240 golfers all-time have won 5 or more.

He won a major.

He finished in the Top 10 in four majors including the win and a tie for 2nd.

He played on a winning Ryder Cup team.

Given how hard it is to play on the top level (look at Jon Mills who is a great golfer, but had limited success on the PGA tour), Ben has had a wonderful career and has been a great ambassador and supporter of Kent State.

Why anybody would have anything bad or obnoxious to say about Ben is beyond me.

You only know what you know. Which makes your statement true. It is beyond you.

Ah, the Dannyb we all love. It was soooo nice when you went away for a month because you were so offended by Gflash calling out a player after a bad game, yet you feel free to go **** all over Curtis. What's all the hate about anyway. It's almost like he knocked up your wife after you got the vasectomy, except I know Ben Curtis is too classy to cheat on his own wife.

Ben isn't an undergrad. He is an adult and therefore someone I have no problem expressing my opinion about.

So, what's with the hate of Ben? Or are you just playing the part of being the forum a@@hole?

I don't hate Ben. I don't pretend to know him well enough to hate him. I simply have an opinion about his wasted talent.

And you know it's wasted talent how exactly? We already know that your athletic prowess was limited to towel boy. What do you know about playing professional golf on the highest levels that you know Ben wasted his talent?

Does that mean it crossed your little mind that you don't know what you are talking about and need to get some sleep so that you can pretend to function at your job tomorrow?

I mean, with all that towel picking up experience, I figure you would particularly know what it takes to be a PGA golfer. Please share your wisdom with us. You certainly are never shy about sharing it before.

Hey, everyone, we finally found something that Danny actually realizes he doesn't know about. That's unlike every other thing in the universe, where he pretends to know about it but actually doesn't.

Danny, this is great growth on your part. If you keep it up, by the time your chronological age is 80, you might act like a 12 year old.

$13, 779,000 career earnings plus endorsements, a foundation in you and your wives name, a healthy donation to Kent for Golf Center and I'm sure many other things, a sprawling house with land and a wonderful wife and family. All before the age of 40. With 100% certainty I doubt anyone that types on this forum can match those stats.

That's not the point. At 39, would you waste your talent? The guy has made $70k since the end of 2014. Played in 21 total tournaments. He plays less golf than the POTUS. He could be a great golfer, but he's not. This is my opinion. You don't have to agree with it.

Finding it difficult to remain quiet on this thread, but I will and just note the source. Others are doing a good job of doing the heavy lifting here as a counter to the worthless dribble. Keep it up.

Well, I can't expect too much growth in one day, so of course you'll respond as a juvenile.

Because, there is an order for getting into tournaments and Curtis lost most of that status after the 2014 season when he finished outside the Top 125 in Fed Ex points and didn't finish in the Top 25 in the web.com playoffs. So, he's not going to get into many tournaments because there are so many others above him. He can get tournament invitations (which he does occasionally get) or low-ranking tournaments that run opposite majors or WGC events as well as tournaments that he has won in the past (like this week's Valero). Curtis has probably played all the tournaments he has had the opportunity to play in since 2014, but, with where he stands, that isn't going to be many.

Again, with the "waste your talent"? Please help us with your wisdom from the towel boy days and tell us what Curtis should be doing differently. After all, cleaning up the locker room must have taught you something about performing at a world class level.

You're stating facts without context or any understanding of how professional golf works. Even when faced with those facts, you continue to stand by your opinion. That's juvenile behavior, Danny.

And,you're complaining about someone else slinging mud. Listen, you've been the forum jerk for years now - just admit that you don't know what you are talking about on this topic.

Ben lost his card because he didn't play enough events to keep it. Now he can barely make a cut because he doesn't play. If he wanted it bad enough, he could go the route Hughes took to get his status. Hence wasted talent. I stand by my opinion because it's MINE and it's an OPINION.

And maybe if you had the first foggiest clue, you might realize my controversial, unpopular opinions, facilitate action on our otherwise mostly boring message board. You sir, are an F'in clown.

Well, I can't expect too much growth in one day, so of course you'll respond as a juvenile.

Lol. You are the one slinging mud. I am stating facts.

You sir, are an F'in clown.

comparing hughes at 26 and 1.6M of career earnings who's single and has no family to a 39 year with young kids and 13M of earnings is not a good comparison. If Ben needed to grind and get back on tour to pay the bills and support his family via whatever route possible I'm sure he could and would go that route. He's established with a secure present and i'd imagine future. Its called life decisions and he and only he chooses that route.

I was critical of Ben at times and his schedule when he had full exempt status. The little I know of ben and the couple times I spoke with him (and that's not much at all much) he strikes as quiet, unassuming, not into the limelight etc and maybe he chose his family over grinding week after week while your family's at home. So call it wasting golf talent but sounds to me like he has maximized dad, husband and charitable guy for KSU and others.

Exactly. He made a conscious decision and stuck with it. It disappointed me but I don't have a vote.
