I agree about Hatfield. He’s pretty awesome. I gave Cattles a second chance, and I just can’t do it. I expected at least some talk about the Redskins come from behind win against the Jags with their 4th QB Josh Johnson on Monday and he’s more focused on the Xs and Os of you guessed it... the Patriots. Topics also included will Saban go to the Packers, is Lamar Jackson really the answer in Baltimore, and other nonsense topics. I had to put it on a replay of Rich Eisen on 850 AM.

I was a critic, but I still listen to him and his guests on my commute since he was the only sports talk radio in town. Looking back, he didn’t just throw softball questions. I think nowadays I could appreciate some of his opinionated conversations. It would be entertaining to hear him discuss the participation of transgenders in women’s sports.

John Castberry was a good announcer for the ODU men. He would be good but, I think he is in the insurance business now.

When he was doing a show and just talking he was horrible. However, he was and still is the best interviewer we’ve had on local radio. Especially when interviewing sports legends.

I always wondered how he got so many big time interviews. I thought the radio station gave him a budget, but I'm not sure they could pay for all the names he interviewed. Those interviews dried up toward the end.

He also did a show I thought was very unique and enjoyed. It was called "The Business of Sports", IIRC he had a local sports agent attorney who would deep dive into the field of pro contracts etc. Only came on Sunday mornings so I doubt it got the audience it deserved, but again, very informative

Not a fan, but he had a good radio show, espeasially interviews with some of the area sports veterans, (Richardson, Ankerson, Randle,etc.)
