I had not even considered him as a transfer possibility. If true, I would welcome him with open arms.

Burrow would be phenomenal if that's truly the guy, I legitimately think he is the best QB on Ohio State's roster. Not many people saw him play in HS since he was from Athens and didn't really get exposure until the last few games, but he was probably one of the most underrated QB prospects in the country. I may be off by one, but I'm fairly certain he threw his first INT of his senior year on his last pass which was a hail mary against Toledo Central Catholic in the state championship game, threw for 60 something TDs and like 4500 yards. Big kid, great arm, VERY accurate and surprisingly athletic.

I believe Malik Zaire is still out there as a transfer. Wouldn't be our first refurbished ND QB.

There were some early whispers on this but we would be an extreme surprise candidate at this point IMHO.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if Urban actively helped Fickell for this exact reason. He knew he'd be replaceable on his staff, he could steal players from the mid-level B1G guys, and POTENTIALLY start stepping in on teams like MSU/PSU/Wisconsin in Ohio if things turned out well. Plus, he's never going to play UC and he knows we won't be P5 for now, so where's the negative?

Don't know if I'd take it that far but there could easily be a natural synergy between the two schools. As much as people hate OSU around here (myself included), I won't be upset if OSU coaches steer good talent to UC instead of letting it fall to IU, Purdue, Michigan State, etc...

I was listening to 97.1 the Fan (Columbus ESPN Radio affiliate) recently and they said the only recruit they've signed for next year who isn't a 4- or 5-star is a kicker, and he's the top-rated kicker in the country. If Urban is strictly going after blue chippers, we will gladly take the quality 3-star guys he doesn't want going to Big Ten rivals.

Brian Kelly once said something along the lines of "Ohio State could sign a whole recruiting class out of Southwestern Ohio and there would still be enough talent left over for UC to win the Big East."

It's definitely not Zaire. I'm not sure if it is Burrow either. It could be. The other rumored names going around are JT Barrett as a grad transfer, Shane Morris (Michigan). Also have seen Torrance Gibson's name thrown around.
