HUNTINGTON — Facial hair is in but sitting is out, out, out at Marshall spring practice.

Besides, there is no time to sit at interim coach Larry Kueck’s workouts.

But players are getting done earlier. With down time shaved to a minimum, the team is headed to the locker room in scarcely more than an hour and a half.

Or, as Kueck called Saturday’s practice, “1 hour, 33 minutes of Bust-a$$ Herd Football.

I like hearing that Coach K is taking measures to instill some disiplin. No hats, cell phones etc.... I also like the fact that he is running energetic and efficiant practices, NO SITTING!

Coach K is doing a good job at keeping the practices up-beat. If he does get appointed coach, I won't be dissapointed by much.

I think the beauty of our situation is that many folks seem genuinely pleased at the thought of having Kueck as our coach. If we were to go with an external hire it will be because there's someone we really want. If we go with an internal hire it's someone who folks would be equally happy with. A win-win situation as far as I can tell.

I think that at this point in the process keeping Coach K is a must. If we bring in someone new in the summer he will want to bring a new system, new coaches etc.... I am all for looking for the best candidate, but at this point it seems like the best candidate is in our own back yard. If any of these other guys really want the job, they will still be around in Dec. because at that point will will know if Kueck is the right guy for the job or not. Also, does anyone know who the lead candidates are for the OC job?

I think if we keep coach K we keep most of our recruits. That to me is the most important thing. With the late resignation of coach P we could stand to lose alot of the best class we've had in years with a coaching change.

I dont think we would lose recruits just because coach K wasnt the head coach especially if the new permanent head coach is a quality pick.

No. Recruits would be transfers and have to sit a year without scholarships. I think almost everyone will stay.

I agree, no matter what coach we bring in, I'd think that we'd keep all of our recruits.
