5 Sun Belt schools fall in the top half of all DI teams:

UTA 26
ASU 51
GaSt 67
ULL 154
GaSou 159

The rest are 200 (Troy) or below. We are at 250. If UTA were to roll through the Belt (18-2 or so) and lose in the tourney we would have a good shot at getting 2 teams in the NCAA's.

Our RPI is not hard to explain. Only Top 150 win is St. Bonnie (111), and we have losses to 3 low RPI teams- Pepperdine (254), Idaho (236), and ORU (194). It will be hard to get our RPI into a respectable range even with a good conference season. Probably only matters for seeding purposes if we were to win the league.

I tend to believe that pre-conference RPI's are usually a pretty good predictor of how teams do in the conference. I'm hoping the reason ours is so low is largely due to our weak schedule. I doubt ours would be much higher, right now, even with a couple of more wins (unless one was Florida). It will be interesting to see how ASU's very solid RPI translates to their conference performance.
