Clint Walker, who played Cheyenne in the 50-60's western of the same name died today at the age of 90. Many of us old guys remember Cheyenne. It was in black and white and it was one of my favorite westerns. He lived a long life. God's Speed Cheyenne...

Great show for a kid like me who idolized cowboys. RIP Cheyenne

Sorry to hear that about Maren - I always picture the last living member of a famous movie dying to rejoin his cast like the scene in Titanic when Rose rejoins the ship after she dies.

Red Schoendiest died at age 95 - he was a baseball Hall of Famer who was with the St. Louis Cardinals organization for 67 years. He also was from a tiny southern Illinois town near my in-laws' hometown and was pretty much that county's national hero so they're taking his death pretty hard.

RE: Grim Reaper Should Hang Himself
Danny Kirwin, one of the first main guitarists of Fleetwood Mac, died Friday I think at age 68. I was never a massive fan of early Fleetwood Mac (Mick Fleetwood and John McVie of course were the main two founding members but that band has obviously had a ton of different parts in its 50-year history). FM of the 60's and very early 70's had a couple of minor hits in the USA but really didn't make it here until Lindsay Buckingham and Stevie Nicks replaced Bob Welch. It seems like Mick Fleetwood treated some of the other early members rather rudely and Kirwin never was the same after he was basically tossed aside.

He was known as Vader in WCW and WWE. I liked WCW wrestling better than the WWE at that time. I hated Vince in making the professional wrestling from a family show to a soft porn wrestling show with what they did with the women.

A couple other sports deaths the past few days in the golf world. Peter Thomson from Australia died at age 88. He was a pretty good tour golfer way back in the 1950's and 1960's, and then did well on the senior tour in the 1980's. I think he might have been a TV commentator as well?

And then I didn't notice it until just now but Hubert Green died a couple days ago of throat cancer. He won a couple of majors in the 1970's and 1980's.

I almost killed Hubert Green when we were both about 16 or so. I was on the practice tee before a junior tournament, and he had walked out in front of the tee to pick up a few balls. The head came off my club on contact and went flying down the range. As he bent over to pick up a couple of balls, my clubhead came flying right where his head would have been had he been standing. We both breathed huge sighs of relief.

Several years later, in a tournament at LSU, I hooked a drive into an adjoining fairway and damn near hit him. When I came over to my ball, he gave me a pretty good ribbing, asking if I were still trying to kill him.
