I thought they were at Jerry Jarett’s house in Hendersonville.

I looked it up and seems you're right. I've been believing my version of the story for years. haha

Lawler was the one who came up with the face paint design. Apparently it was based on some painting he once saw.
Carroll Hardy died yesterday at age 87 from complications from dementia.. He was an American baseball player (Cleveland Indians, Boston Red Sox, Houston Astros), and also played in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers (1955).

I remember when they debuted Kamala with that video. It was live with Russel and Dave Brown. During the show, they had showed the video like 5 times already, with very little wrestling, and the in-studio audeince was learly getting impatient. Then, towards the end of the show, Lawler walks out, and either Russel or Brown asks Lawler if he's seen the video of Kamala yet, and Lawler says "No I havent". And they said "can we see that video again, and the in-studio audience nearly revolted for having to sit thru it again.

I am a Cincinnati grad but I am a military brat- I lived over in Blytheville, AR for 7 years. I grew up watching Dave and Lance. I remember when he debuted, that was still back in the day when people thought it real. People actually believed he was a cannibal. Can’t remember who it was exactly, but one time someone blades and Kamala started acted crazy, like he was going to go in a feeding frenzy. All the kids in the audience started crying and people started running. Haha the good old days of Kayfabe.

I've heard a couple different versions of this one. Some claim Andre dropped a racial slur and Kamala pulled a gun on him in the locker room. Kamala denied this, he said that he never actually pulled out the gun but did have it on him. Kamala denied the racial slur too and said the reason he confronted Andre was because he was working too stiff in the ring and nearly injured him.
They wrestled each other again many times after this. Whatever happened the two must have worked it out.
Jake the Snake has a good story about Andre.. It's on Rogan's podcast.. Basically they bought a case or two of beer and Andre drank pretty much all of it on the ride to the next town... On top of that he never stopped for a bathroom break and pissed all in Jake's vehicle.

Andre's drinking stories are legendary. He could consume massive quantities of alcohol and it would not phase him. Just every wrestler of that era has an Andre drinking story.
As to his demeanor, Andre was well thought of by most, but if you crossed him he was unforgiving. A few guys he did not get along with were Big John Studd, The Iron Sheik, Macho Man Randy Savage, Bam Bam Bigalow and the Ultimate Warrior. He hated the Macho Man because he always wore baby oil. The Iron Sheik had a bad reputation for taking liberties with all the enhancement talent, and he always felt Studd was trying to take his gimmick as a Giant.
