Do not see it until you re-watch a New Hope first. It will help with catching tons of Easter eggs. I put Rogue One as the second best in the franchise, behind Empire. Great writing and one awesome ending.

So THAT'S what lost you!?...and not the overall shittyness of the prequels? I can deal with the Annakin building 3PO storyline...but the horrible EVERYTHING ELSE and terrible CGI is what lost me. That being said, Rogue One is by far the best SW movie since the originals (ep 4-6).

And BTW, Annakin didn't build R2D2...you may need to brush up on your SW history.

Well, it is a good thing that before they made Rogue One and Force Awakens, Disney bought the franchise from Lucas and has absolutely barred him from having any input on the new films as well as preventing him from going back and ruining the originals any further.

Say what you will about Episode 1 and 2. I'll agree that they were pretty awful. Episode 3 was pretty damn good though.

Episode III was definitely the best one of the prequels.

IMO, ranking best to worst:

1. V Empire Strikes Back
2. IV New Hope
3. VI Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue One (III 1/2)
5. VII Force Awakens
6. III Revenge of the Sith
7. I Phantom Menace
8. II Attack of the Clones

Saw it today and really liked it. I think they did a great job tying in with ANH.

I saw the first one in the theater years ago. Haven't seen any of the others other than a few minutes of the Ewoks. I am not sure what episode they were in.

I wasn't impressed at all with Rogue One....except for the last 3 seconds. That was quite the 3/4 court 3-point shot at the end of the game.

Seems like a fairly accurate ranking.

Didn't like the cgi tarken and leia though in R1.

Rewatched ANH after R1 and am amazed how well that movie holds up to todays special effects expectations.

Seems like I caught a glimpse of Maz at one point R1. I believe it during the Forest Whitacre portion.
