As you know, we are now looking for an AD at USM. My question for you is simply, do you think Zach Woodfin would be good at it on a permanent basis ? If so, why or why not ? I posed basically this same thought on our USM board and was met with basically sarcastic "you're an idiot for even suggesting this" responses. Because our fans have never been accused of being very smart. So I wanted your thoughts.

Personally I think people put way too much stock into the "connections" and "experience" attributes when hiring ADs. Then they end up with mediocre people that don't seem to care that much about the school but like playing golf with big donors, all while drawing a check and getting by doing the bare minimum. I think their work ethic, ability to relate to people(getting Them to open their wallets), and having an eye for talent(hiring coaches) are the most important attributes. From what I know about Woodfin, he would be the perfect fit. Thoughts ?

Now wait a minute, Eagle Beaver has been accused of being a smart_ _ _ Does that count?

He obviously doesnt have the experience and connections like you mentioned, but his character and tenacious work effort are off the charts. I feel like playing politics and schmoozing with donors can be learned, but the character and work effort cannot. You could definitely do a lot worse.

I would fire the idiot we have and hire Zac in 3.2 seconds. Does that answer your question?
