If Navy, USF and Temple lose, they'll be the 1 and 6.

I'm cheering for USF and Temple as I always cheer for the G5 against the P5 04-cheers

Im usually in the same boat as you, but the AAC as a whole has been insufferable this season and need to have their attitudes adjusted. They remind me of a little kid with an invisible friend, only they beleive it

As soon as I hear someone say Appa LAY shun I automatically assume they are some clueless yankee. My girlfriend at the time (now my wife) is from Toledo and used to say Appa Lay shun and one day proceeded to argue with me about it. I called the school and also told her that I know where I'm from and I am from the Appa latch un mountains.

Her area also called Oregon Or-e-GHAWN.

WTF?

It's the Oreghun trail not the Oreghawn trail.

"Or-egg-on" is the suburb east of Toledo. That's literally it's pronunciation. The state is "Or-eg-in." People here tend to call the state by what they are familiar with in the area, which is the town "Or-egg-on."

It bothers some App fans more than others. To me it's not as aggregious as App-uh-LAY-shun but it's close.

Again, respectfully requesting.

Good luck to everyone in your respective bowls.

Must be a regional dialect thing, but that's how I've always heard it pronounced in these parts. It was only recently (say, around the time of that awesome win over scUM in Ann Arbor) that I started hearing it as App-uh-LATCH-un.

Then again, for Oregon, the Midwesterners tend to say Or-e-GAWN, and I've now trained myself to say Or-e-GHIN like the rest of the country.

We literally had a discussion on how to pronounce Appalachian in one of my classes at App (some northern freshman kept saying LAY). It is definitely regional as southerns typically pronounce it LATCH while northerners typically pronounce it LAY. When referring to the mountain range you can correctly pronounce it based off of where you are regionally from. However, since Appalachian State is located in the south the ONLY correct pronunciation of the school is a-puh-LATCH-uhn.

Just like no way Colorado St loses to Idaho? You never know which team will show up.

RE: Conference bowl standings
Bowl Record Since the 2013 Realignment (includes up to date 2016):

1.) CUSA 12-7 = .632

2.) SBC 8-5 = .615

3.) MWC 12-13 = .480

4.) AAC 7-15 = .318

5.) MAC 5-14 = .263

If the AAC doesn't like these numbers, maybe they should blame ESPN for the match-ups.....because those sure don't look like P6 numbers to me.

Then they could call themselves the P(1-)6.

If Henderson stays for his senior year - he may be the winningest Tech player of all time.

Appalachia(along with Acadiana) is one of the more uniquely American cultural regions in this country. I grew up in North Georgia and went to school in Middle Tennessee, I know it's App-uh-latch-uh as sure as I know vinegar pie is far more delicious than it sounds.

Glad App State went FBS, they seem to be adjusting better than their rivals in Statesboro.
