RE: FCS
I agree that they should be watching so they can see what an offense looks like and so that they can pick a head coach with a winning record.

Axeme, we wouldn't be any better, we'd be worse. And any savings would probably be more than offset by the loss of big money games such as Penn State and Alabama. The only options are to drop football or to hire the right coach that will make the team better and bring lots more ticket-buying fans into the stands. I have no idea who that coach could be. And, successful coaches will always leave for a "Power 5" opening at the first opportunity, so it would have to be a series of coaches.

Maybe if Gary Pinkel is healthy again he would help us out for 3-4 years.

Pinkel would be ideal, if healthy, because he's an alum and is too old to be sought after by a Power 5 school. But, he's already 64 years old and probably wouldn't be interested. The basketball program has not had a losing season since 1997/98 with five different coaches, and with none (so far) staying more than six seasons. Of course, football and basketball are different animals. Short of dropping football, which isn't going to happen, realistically the best option is to make sure they get a gem when they don't renew the contract of Paul Haynes. Then, when that coach moves on, get another gem, etc. Of course, the ideal would be for the 2017 team to really gel, but sadly I don't see that happening.

And YSU is going to the FCS Championship game... As long as Pelini is there I don't see Kent winning any recruiting battles in the Youngstown area against him.

RE: FCS
Would like to see Pelini on our side line. He is a very good coach.
