What a rip off.

I'm honestly confused about this part of the deal.

I'm a big FCC supporter and I'm fine with the renovations but this doesnt make any sense to me either. Why would UC be paying for renovations that FCC requested. I could see something like this in play for a scoreboard or sound system that has mutual uses by both parties. The wall was explicitly an FCC request so I don't get why UC is paying for any of the costs.

It called getting bent over by the Lindners.

Am I not understanding this part of it? I originally thought UC was fronting the money but FCC was paying it back, but now I'm turned around and it looks like it's FCC is fronting the money but UC is paying them back. That's correct...right?

And didn't local news say that FCC would pay UC to change it back to the way it was once they leave?

Do the local bars and restaurants pay UC the work?

I think UC believes a healthy neighborhood is beneficial for the school and has been involved with the Uptown Consortium and was instrumental with much of the development south of campus. Beverly Davenport is on their board. Zimpher was as well. I assume Ono was.

I'm sure most of us have heard stories of people who refuse to send their children to UC because they believe the neighborhood is unsafe. I have. Keeping Clifton economically vibrant is important to UC.

With that said, do I think that's why UC entered this agreement with FCC? No. But it's a nice side benefit, particularly with the unexpected attendance numbers.

"These renovations must enhance the Stadium overall and improve the fan experience for all events now held in the Stadium. Licensee shall pay or reimburse Licensor for all third party out-of-pocket costs of the Capital Project, subject to the limitations in this Section 30."

Thats from the Capital project section and is more in line with what we believe is happening. The way that other section reads is if FCC fronted the expenses for a capital project/repair instead of UC (for whatever reason) then they would keep the concessions until it was repaid because honestly UC isn't in a great financial situation so it makes sense that there is a clause for that.

I used to hear this a lot when my oldest was first looking to go to UC. Since then, many other local kids have also attended UC and other people have gone down to watch football games (thanks Kelly and Jones). It has now been years since that concern has been expressed to me.

I swear to God if UC would have let the head of Parking Services negotiate the expansion conversation with the B12 and ACC, we would already be in. Seems like the only department at UC that always gets what they want, and always gets a cut of every activity. Bravo Lord of Parking Services!

It still happens, but more and more students from the area are going there. Now if they realized supporting the University athletically only helps them.

Any word on the renegotiated contract since FC is MLS now?

Is it even controversial anymore? FC is building their own stadium, and guessing UC gets more $$$.

Yeah terrible deal. The anti soccer people wouldn't like it if UC got $5mil.

So a few hundreds thousand a season plus exposure to the campus and increasing the vibrancy around campus nearly 20 times a year. Seems like a win win for both parties and that's the best type of deal.

Parking revenue alone should be substantial. 20 events? 2500 cars? $20 per car$ That would be a million.

One development is that starting next year they will be practicing at the new facility in Milford. Should help with some scheduling issues that come up from time to time (we went out to Higher Ground for an extended period of time this season instead of starting on campus).

How much is it to park scooter and bikes that these mama's basement types ride?

How much of the parking revenue accrues to the AD?

And crickets might not generate any revenue but they also don't trash the stadium. First FB game the row across the aisle from us had FCC puke all over the bleacher...

Or use training facilities for free at the expense of student athletes. They can't move out to Clermont county soon enough, and hopefully have Mercy take over their health care.

The Bearcat lair/Bailey sure has taken a beating over the last few years. My Bleacher feels like a surf board.

The original contract states that should FC become a MLS team then the contract can be restructured. Curious if that happened. Have not seen anything.
