RE: UT track and field 2016-17
Agata has apparently left the team. Not competing in MAC, not on the roster. Too good to be true, I guess. I'm not seeing many points here. High jump, a few in distance and maybe PV and 4x400 could surprise and be in the scoring but pretty slim pickings.

Toledo finished 11th. Looks like Akron and emu are so far ahead of everyone else. Of course they were only 8 points out of 4th but that's like saying we only lost every game by one run.

When you don't have an indoor track it's hard to be competitive. Concentrate on XC/distances.

RE: UT track and field 2016-17
Except we have had good track in the past. Once they built Fetterman they went to three straight NCAAs and MAC championships in xc and were MaC runner-up both indoor and outdoor in 2012. Great jumps and multi plus great distance plus a few very good sprinters. This program is worse now than they were back in the late 90s under Maxie. Pathetic. Jill had some great track teams back in the day too (at the expense of xc though).

Noe is this year's recipient of the Chuck Ealy Undefeated Spirit award. Well deserved.

Interesting that the story mentions two hurdlers that placed sixth and ninth and then goes on to say that the steeplechase was also a strength for the Rockets with runners placing 17th, 22nd and 27th. Is this what we have come to?

My thoughts exactly. Maybe a super-strong steeple field? I didn't really check the times.

I hope they are holding out people for Stanford because this is the wrong direction. They have now finished last and second-to-last the last two MAC Indoors. Zero all-Mac athletes. Cross country is barely middle of the pack. Thankfully women's golf is carrying the Spring sports.

True, but they can never beat Kent.

If you're going to have a program you need a real indoor track facility. Otherwise you're just spinning your wheels

Or you do what the last coach did-win in x-country and let your distance strength at least keep you in the upper Hal of track. We are doing neither.

Some of the squad competed at the University of Cincinnati this weekend. Rockets get victories in the 400 meters and the javelin.

Other squad members were at Stanford for a competition

anybody else have trouble linking to these stories? everytime I click a link on the UT site to read a story, it times out and will not open because of a "long-running script" (not the article). Only seem to have that problem with the UT website.
