And the tap water will only be delivered via a trick flower squirt gun attached to Mike Bohn's jacket lapel, assuming you're lucky enough to catch the drops when it trickles off of your face.

Call me crazy, but if we get in a P5 I think we can keep him unless Ohio State, Michigan State, Notre Dame and/or Penn State come calling.

I'm inclined to agree with all this. He's an Ohio guy and that seems to be working in UC's favor in a big way right now.

6 years is the longest Urban ever held a job. He's entering year 6 at tO$U now. He could easily leave in 3 years, and we all know CLF wants that job. The only way he gets it is if he dominates here. 10+ wins and bowl success every year. If he does that and we lose him, I'm OK with it.

RE: Fickell's Coaching Staff
I know it sounds homerish, but I really think we are in a good position for a long run with Fickell if he's successful. Obviously that's especially true if we become P5, but I feel pretty good about it even if we don't. Yeah, on a certain level I'm sure Fick would have some interest in a non-OSU B10 job but I really think he'd have a hard time with it internally. And of course some of the SEC jobs would be very difficult to turn down, but it's not an obvious fit from either end.

Obviously, he'd jump for OSU and I'm sure he'd hear out ND too if they were interested. Other than that, we might have a fighting chance just in terms of fit. And obviously to get the OSU or ND jobs, he's going to have to win big here. Like Dannyboy and probably most here, if he does that, I"m good with it but it's a few years out at the bare minimum and it could be quite a long wait if Urban stays in place (and really where else is he going to go aside from tv?)

For anyone who is a wcpo.com insider, there is a terrific piece on Fickell and UC. It definitely will get you excited about future possibilities if you aren't already. Here's the link for those with access:

Cincinnati Bearcats football coach Luke Fickell snags spotlight at Colerain stag

Colerain coach Tom Bolden sounds like he's already become a huge Fickell fan.

Unless I missed them, I'm surprised we haven't had any reports from anyone who attended the LaSalle night or Colerain stag this week. Article above gives some details but would love a full report.

I spoke with a friend who was at the Colerain stag and was really impressed with Fickell. Said he was much more impressive than all the other recent UC coaches who have appeared there

Friday resigned from UC .
Tuesday arrested for DUI.

That's both dodging the bullet and some quick karma.

Fickell scares me.

Or just convenient timing with a long weekend to wait on the Blood Tox screens to come back from the precinct that picked him up Thursday night... we'll never know.

We do know. He was picked up 2am Tuesday morning by west Lafayette police

Parker was charged around 2 a.m. by West Lafayette police, after he was reportedly attending a going away party at a near-campus bar.

Parker took over the Purdue coaching responsibilities in October after Darrell Hazell was fired. He was 0-6 as interim coach. Since a new Purdue coaching staff started in December, Parker has subsequently been hired as an assistant at Cincinnati.

He was reportedly seen driving the wrong way on Pierce Street when he was stopped early this morning. He was taken to the Tippecanoe County Jail where he was booked and held. He was released later on Tuesday without a bond, according to a jail spokesman.

chatter on twitter James Laurinaitis could be joining the staff at some capacity. I believe you can have 10 assistants now and we were only at 9 with Parker.

Parker issues public apology on twitter. States he did not realize he was impaired and drove down a one way street in error (see link attached for full account).

If true, it would be cool if his dad showed up to UC games in full Road Warrior gear

Don't know how good of a coach the guy is, but man that would be huge. Dude was a an Animal (pun intended) at Ohio State. Per the Bearcats site, we only have 8 assistants, so I think we have room for 2 more. Let me know if I am missing someone, but it looks like the only missed position group is RB.

Mike Denbrock - Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks
Marcus Freeman - Defensive Coordinator/Linebackers
Doug Phillips - Special Teams Coordinator/Tight Ends
Ron Crook - Assistant Coach - Offensive Line
Willie Martinez - Assistant Coach - Cornerbacks
Joker Phillips - Assistant Coach - Wide Receivers
Jon Tenuta - Assistant Coach - Safeties
Al Washington - Assistant Coach - Defensive Line
