We get the ball first, but Espy can't hold on to it. Memphis shoots self in foot for two penalties. On 2nd and 17 Brown gets BURNED for a 14 yard gain to make it 3rd and 3. Then another pass for a TD. Our pass defense SUCKS, ladies and gentlemen. Please excuse my language. (My son has fled the premises.)

Good news: T. Turner looks good running the ball, on 2nd and six found a seam and got a first down. Bad news: Townsend drops a ball thrown right into his numbers. Catch the ball, man! Now we have to punt.

OK, what's the deal? I can't access the free audio thru the Reb football site... keep getting 'unable to launch Yahoo platinum, bla bla...'
My Real player is up to date, etc...

They've changed something from last year. It used to work great.

Any ideas, anybody??

Second possession for Memphis: Pass for gain of 8 on 1st down. (I'm getting queasy. Brown CANNOT COVER White.) Saints be praised, Jesse Mitchell comes through for a tackle for no gain. On 3rd and 2, we get burned on the run-- Hutchins has to stop the runner; you know what that means.

On 2nd and 9, Oliver makes a fine tackle. Brown limps off field, replaced by freshman McBride. Then we get a beautiful SACK. Cooper was in on it; couldn't tell who else.

We got one first down, then faced 3rd and 9... After a delay-of-game penalty, Eli is sacked and we have 4th and 23 from, I think, the 16. SOMEBODY MISSED A BLOCK, big time.

Ladies and gentleman, it is time to mix the martinis. :cuss:

You got that right, LR. Hey, Wiz, may I start bashing now? This is CUTCLIFFE'S TEAM. This was the year he was supposed to SHOW SOMETHING. No more excuses.

On Memphis's third possession, they burn us again for what looks like a 25-yard gain, but a holding penalty turns it into only 13; still first down. Again, MISSED TACKLES and Memphis gets 6 yards. Thank God Wimprine (sp?) FINALLY throws an incomplete pass, his first. On 3rd and 4, incomplete pass-- Oliver looks good.

Memphis punts; off the side of punter's foot, ball appears to be going into the end zone but Espy fields it on about the 10 and promptly gets hammered. God, I miss Deuce. On first down we have a COMPLETE PASS for, guess what, NO GAIN!!!! Memphis has great coverage. We could take lessons.

One bright spot: Chris Collins "climbed the pole" (thanks, Harry Harrison, GREAT color commentator; I wish he'd suit up and get back out there) for a great catch; then we have another pass to Hill for 7 yards... 2nd and 3! Great! Then, because we can't stand prosperity, we run off the left side for ONE YARD. On 3rd and 2 Eli throws what thank God is finally ruled an incomplete pass, because it looked like an interception.

Mrs. Parker might be taking to her bed.

Manning to Flowers to the 14 for 36-yard gain. On 3rd and 8 from the 12, Eli hits receiver for TD. Thank God.
