So why did Tennessee fire DT?
this question of yours is so illogical to this string of comments, that it doesn't merit any further response. clearly, something isn't working properly in your brain. have a good evening.
No, it's completely logical, a stretch for you, of course.
How did Tennessee come to fire Donnie Tyndall? You think maybe they were discussing the situation with the NCAA?
man, its very hard to get you to read, think and understand. ill try one more time for you.
i said - "They [the NCAA] didnt crush us. They [NCAA] crushed DT. we punished ourselves with self implementation more than the ncaa dinged us."
in response, you said - "So why did Tennessee fire DT?"
interjecting anything TN did to DT has nothing to do with my statement about USM's self-imposed sanctions. as ive stated twice, DT got hammered by the NCAA...that was deserved. THAT is why TN fired him. understand? They did not fire him because of any formal sanctions on USM, bc there were none at the time. they knew he was about to get crushed, so they went ahead and fired him bc it was apparently inevitable that he would be punished severely.
again, you realize that there was no, “lack of institutional control” or “failure to monitor” the athletic program, right? good. thanks.
says the guy that cant even quote a post correctly. look at yourself, man! what is that mess you just created? lol

RE: Seriously, how long should Doc Sadler be given
So back to the original question to open the thread...
The NCAA ruling came down only a month before Signing Day this year. He deserves two full recruiting cycles without that hammer looming over him to build his team. You guys can rant and rave all you want, but realistically, everything to this point was a lost cause from the start. I've said all I'm going to about that.
I will say if we go through next season without significant upward signs, I wouldn't be emphatically opposed to pulling the plug a year earlier.

Exactly how I feel Harbor. I'm starting to get a feeling in my gut that he's not the right guy (which isn't even necessarily a mark against him, it's hard as heck to be the right guy at USM in hoops). But we have to give him at least one more year. If we are really being fair he should probably get 2 more but he hasn't shown much improvement yet. No matter how bad we are right now, it would look absolutely awful if we fired him right now after what he's had to deal with.

I agree about giving him time. However, he is beginning to sound defeated and depressed. The basketball team/program will not improve if that becomes the norm.

it's gotta be wearing on him....
our shooting percentage from the field and at the line are abysmal....
our turnover rate is worse than I've ever seen....we don't have someone that can run the floor like Price
you can't fix all of that by waving a wand thinking talent will magically pop out of the hat....
regardless who the coach is, that shite ain't gonna just fix itself...

That's more in line with LC's budget.

That's halfway to signing up for an account here. We'd better monitor him for stupid and melodramatic.

That's funny right there. And a lot more accurate than we want to believe.
