The guy has coached in the SEC and the Big 10. You really think he doesn't know the difference between SWAC talent and FBS talent ? Criticize him all you want, but don't be ridiculous about it.

RE: Offseason Recruiting News
In CUSA, developing your recruits once they get on campus is more integral than the P5 who are getting 99% of the superior and naturally-gifted talent.
There isn't much difference between the #1 CUSA recruiting class and the #12 CUSA recruiting class.

RE: Offseason Recruiting News
Thank you shifty eagle. I've been saying that for the last several years. The ability for a school like us to pull in a top 45 class (which actually would mean something) became next to impossible about 5 years ago as the landscape changed again. Fedora's last class ranked in the mid 90s I believe. Western Michigan has what some believe is the recruiter in the nation in PJ Fleck. His best class to date is this years ranked right around 50. And some of that is because they have more commitments than a lot of classes. He's also had a couple classes ranked in the 60-75 range. So if we are honest with ourselves, this class is right in line with what we usually get. It will all come down to how we develop them and utilize them.

With all due respect, i don't think youve compared the #1 cusa class with the #12 class over the years bc its a huge difference. That being said, i concur that there isnt a ton of difference between the #76 ranking with the #86 ranking, but there is a big difference between #90 and #60. Sure, development is key, but talent is too. Scout has us this year at #89. Id prefer to be #59, bc there's a big talent difference there. It also makes me warm and fuzzy to see us with a commit that had offers from P5 schools, rather than no other offer or ones only from ulm, charlotte and jackson state, etc . Also, comparing ourselves to other cusa teams shouldn't be our high limit threshhold comparison, bc cusa is certainly the bottom of the fbs barrel at this point.

Call it bottom of the barrel all you want, we've only won it once in the last 13 years. We need to win the conference consistently before we think about anything else.

Im not sure what you mean by saying, "before we think about anything else". That reply doesnt make sense with regards to my post. Are you suggesting we should win our conference first, before we try to get better recruits than our conference mates? Bc thats what it sounds like. That doesn't make sense either way.
Btw, getting the best recruits and winning the conference kind of go hand in hand.

RE: Offseason Recruiting News
We now interrupt another pointless pissin' party. To bring you some recruiting updates.
Today is early signing for JuCos. Looks like we picked up 2 CC guys and I believe a few preferred walk-on specialists. Extremely underwhelming to say the least.
Trevor Terry (WR)-- Jones County JC
Delmond Landry (DL)-- Southwest Mississippi CC
Morgan Stansell (Long Snapper)-- East Mississippi CC (walk on)
We also recently offered:
Cameron Sample-- 3 Star DE and GA Southern Commit
JayPee Philbert--- OL Grad Transfer from Iowa State

RE: Offseason Recruiting News
Meanwhile...
"Tuesday, FAU officially announced the hiring of Kiffin as the Owls’ new head coach. A day later, 247Sports.com is reporting, Kiffin has his first signee as East Mississippi Community College quarterback De'Andre Johnson has put pen to paper with FAU.
The recruiting website currently has Johnson ranked as the No. 2 pro-style quarterback in the country for JUCO prospects. Johnson was a four-star member of Florida State’s 2015 recruiting class who left the Seminoles under a cloud of controversy. Johnson will be eligible to play for Kiffin immediately at FAU. He’ll have three years of eligibility remaining beginning in 2017. "

They got him because other people didn't want the baggage. They had already offered him before kiffin got there. He was most likely going there anyway.

And you totally misinterpreted my previous post, of course we should try to get the best recruits we possibly can. I was referencing the constant bad mouthing of our conference like we are so above it. We have won it once in 13 years. We may want to quit downing it.

Isn't Johnson the kid who was kicked off FL State team for puching a girl in the face? Getting kicked off a FL State team is an accomplishment.

whether we have won it every year or never, its still the worst conference in FBS. i will not try to mask that by ignoring the truth of it all.
