Come on guys, that excuse can't last forever. We have Ole Miss and Mississippi State in a small state population wise, and LSU just to our Southwest, with Alabama and Auburn just to our East and Northeast.

USM has been a FBS program in a more stable conferences for longer than rest of us by a long margin. You had the fortune of building a fan base while playing beside schools like Memphis/ Louisville / Houston/ Cinncy. Erase that history and see how it would be if your just starting your FBS with the current TV production and formats of today's landscape. USM has its fans from 20 years ago and built a tradition that's carried on

There's no excuse for 13k at a conference championship. None. That's just terrible.

There's no excuse losing to Charlotte. That's even worse.
