I think the reason we are slow on commitments right now is because the staff is shooting for higher ranked players. Sometimes these guys can take a little to make their decisions because they want to hold out for the call from Saban, Sweeney, etc. I'm not gonna get crazy over recruiting right now. This is all a guess.

Edit: No idea why I responded to your post with this. Guess my long weekend had something to do with it.

Yeah, and his "school list" looks like he'll jump on one of those if the offer comes. Hopefully he stays with us, looks like a great addition!

LOL. If he had committed to a P5.......... YES! But, IMO I agree he should be a solid 3 star.

He's a wrestler, which means:

A) Quick feet
B) Exceptional body control
C) Quick hands, especially going for inside position

We need all these things. Solid recruit if we can keep him.

I liked Sams' video, but without any offers from a P5 school, I doubt he will be rated any higher than two stars at this time.

Im just glad with got a guy with a few solid FBS offers. That bodes well. Some of our very best FBS players were recruited as FCS guys.

Don't get me wrong. My comment is aimed at the rating system, not at Sams. I think he is a good get, and I look forward to him being a solid addition to our O-line.

Fair, that is certainly a factor when they evaluate the player(s). It should be a blind evaluation on merit, ability and performance. We all know how the system works. Unfortunately this story has played out many times in the past and has become the tale as old as time itself.

Looks like another solid addition. I like that the offensive line has been the priority in this year's recruiting.
