his was the second year for Coach Harold "Bud" Elliott. His task of rebuilding the Mavs was monumental, but was able to improve on a 1-10 year, with a 4-7 mark. His tenure was marked by several near misses, and he was a paltry 1-8 versus UNT, with the lone win a 7-6 game during the State Fair in 1981, our last conference championship, and the last year the SLC was DI-A.
