Was on for a short time in my WMU football BR team stream. In it Fleck had the team watching Miracle on the big screen at Lawson. And he made a great impassioned speech, I'd have to say one of his best yet. I got up this morning at 6am fired up for this game. And now the vid is not there. Was linked from WMU Football Twitter. The beginning of it is still posted under "Game Day"

Yeah, it made me want to run through a brick wall. Think it probably got canned due to Disney throwing out some copyright BS over the Miracle footage.

I don't get it.

Why show team "Miracle on Ice"?

Solich should be the one showing his team "Miracle."

Actually, USA beat Russia in the semifinals (i.e. Toledo last week) and then had to avoid a letdown in the championship game against Sweden. So I believe it is quite appropriate and motivational.

Okay, that makes sense (actually we beat Finland in the '80 final though).

Here's the gist of PJ's speech during the video: "Men, we are getting on the bus to go claim a championship for our university, our fans, and our community! If you're not hearing me, then don't bother getting on the bus!!!"

True. Herb Brooks told his team after the first period, when they were loosing to the Finns, something like, "if you loose this game you take it to your f-ing graves.....your f-ing graves". Doesn't sound like flecks style, but if fleck k wanted to make that point, Herb's pep talk would do the trick for sure.

The vid was on bleacher report early am. When I clicked on the Twitter feed to get the link it said video was unavailable. Must have taken it down as previous poster said due to Disney rights. it showed a 2 second clip from Miracle.

When compared to that olympics Alabama would be the Soviet Union and we would be team USA. Puts into perspective what a huge underdog that team was and how great Herb was to get that team together and compete. See the movie if you haven't.
