RE: New CFP Rankings ... Washington, WMU control destinies
I think if everyone wins out and Penn State beats Wisconsin convincingly, I think they get in with the 4th spot with losses to Pitt (who beat Clemson) and Michigan (who lost to Ohio State who Penn State beat).
1.) Alabama
2.) Clemson
3.) Washington
4.) Penn State
5.) Ohio State
6.) Michigan
7.) Oklahoma
8.) Wisconsin
9.) USC
10.) Colorado
I think USC could possibly snag the Rose Bowl spot from Colorado.

no chance. Washington's cap is #4. It's going to be Alabama/Washington and Clemson/Ohio St.

Yes, anyone who thinks Ohio State is falling out of the playoffs is crazy. They are the one team that is 100% in.

I think the "13th" data point will cost Ohio State seeding, but I believe they're still in the playoffs:
Peach Bowl: (1) Alabama vs. (4) Ohio State
Fiesta Bowl: (2) Clemson* [should the Tigers win] vs. (3) Washington
Rose Bowl: (5) Wisconsin* vs. (9) Southern California
Orange Bowl: (10) Florida State vs. (6) Michigan
Sugar Bowl: (7) Oklahoma vs. (14) Auburn
Cotton Bowl: (16) Western Michigan vs. (8) Penn State
*Assuming Clemson and Wisconsin win tonight.
I think the Wisconsin/Penn State doesn't fall out of the Top 10, which isn't far enough for Louisville or West Virginia to make the New Year's Six, even with Oklahoma State and Colorado losing.

I have always thought the "13th data point" was a myth, propaganda spouted by committee members and others to cover for what they are really doing.
As a result, the most I can see OSU falling would be to #3, with Clemson up to #2, which of course is a meaningless switch in every way.
