Solich has reached the MACC 3 times and lost each game. I view him as on a par with Bill Cubit. Has a winning record, but cannot win the big game. He has won the East 3 times (where Bill never did win the West), but the East is the weaker division. If we were in the East, I'd wager BC would have won a few division titles.

On to Victory, Friday.

WMU are heavy favorites but as recent history has shown, heavy favorites can lose in Detroit and goto
A ,"sympathy' bowl instead of a New Years bowl.

Frank Solich is a former University of Iowa coach (who many Hawkeyes fans were sad to see go).
He has proven that he can prepare a team for a game and devise a strategy to give his team a chance of winning against superior athletes. He has far more coaching experience than PJ.

WMU is the better FB team, however this is not a best of 7 series.

If a MAC team loses a game it cannot be in Detroit if it is to get a Big Bowl bid.

PJ has taken WMU from a mid MAC team to a National FB brand in only 4 years.
Winning and pressure are still knew for WMU.

This season has been a magic, historic and memorable season for both WMU and the MAC.

Can the Bronco's handle the pressure of Ford Field?
NIU lost two heartbreakers in Detroit before winning.

I am hoping that WMU wins in Detroit and does not get sidelined by Navy for a New Years Bowl game.

The whole MAC West is behind you.
Row the boat to the cotton Bowl.

I believe that WMU will cover the spread and convince every reasonable minded college Football fan
That it is a top 12 team.
Personally I will be happy with a WMU win, however a similar Toledo like performance or better
May be needed to show that WMU deserves a Cotton Bowl slot.

Broncos really need to put a licking on Ohio to make it look good and further state their case for the Cotton Bowl.

Although Ohio has a good defense, I think WMU's offense keeps Ohio's offense off the field for long periods of time and scores on long sustained drives. This team was only able to put 9 points on an Akron defense that WMU torched 41-0...With that said, I believe the Broncos win in similar fashion but give up a late garbage TD, 42-10, 49-10. I know PJ will have the guys focused as Ohio has been here before and has a veteran coach, but I just don't see Ohio giving the Broncos much of a close game like NIU / EMU, especially in perfect weather conditions at Ford Field.

SO READY FOR FRIDAY!!! GO BRONCOS!!!

From what I am hearing unofficially by way of folks buying ticket at Ford Field this could be the largest crowd in a MAC match up the Broncos have played in

I would be more worried about Ohio in poor weather like the last couple weeks. They have a very stout run defense but indoors our passing game should be clicking and that's not a strength for them although they do pressure the QB.

Only way Ohio covers the spread is if Atlas is on the sidelines for 4 quarters doing his Rocky speech...over and over and over

Funny things can happen in Ford Field. I don't think it will be enough for Ohio to win, but it never seemed like NIU played like, well, NIU in the 6 years they were there. Even when they did win. Last year we had QB problems but even in the previous years. Maybe it's the cavernous dome, I don't know. You'll have a lot of fans there at least. Should be a fun game. 18 points just seems like a lot. Then again, I thought Toledo would provide a close game against WMU.

WMU has a history of playing well at Ford Field. Especially at the WR position. Simmons and White had monstrous games there. Good TE play too.

I lost my voice when we beat Illinois there. What a game.

Jennings and Scheffler had great games too when we played EMU

Oh Jesus, this game gets scarier and scarier for me.... in more than one way.

Quote:I lost my voice when we beat Illinois there.

But Teddy Atlas' won't.... :(

Quote:Funny things can happen in Ford Field.

Yep. Last time a MAC West team was on the way to a BCS bowl game playing there for it all, with a Heisman Finalist behind center, they got their 1st loss to the MAC East. Funny things do happen there. WMU beat Illinois there, and it's a semi-home-court, but Ohio is mentally prepared to walk into it with nothing to lose, and we have Everything to lose. They want revenge against the state of MI (their only two MAC losses) with the best run D the MAC has ever seen, and we're basking the limelight sewing cotton.

18.5pts. Mark my words. I'm making money on this to help me lick my wounds after the game (or having someone else lick my wounds for a certain price)....

Todd, I sure hope this is all a part of your shtick because if it's not, you might need to check yourself into a psych ward.

...."best run D the MAC has ever seen." 03-lmfao

Sure, if you say so. So, they beat Toledo. Watching that game, I was struck by the fact that Toledo was it's own worst enemy. Their O line is not as good as ours. Ohio, like most others we have played, may have some early success seeming to shut down our running game. But over 4 quarters, they won't be able to hang with it.

The last two times we've played Ohio, we've bombed them into submission badly. We did that with teams that were nowhere near as good as this team this year. And that NIU team that went up against FSU? Not as good as this Bronco team, not even close.

Curl up into the fetal position and be afraid, Todd. Be very afraid.

The team that played FSU was nearly as good as WMU this year. They would have beaten this year's NIU team by at least 2 TDs. Their average margin of victory in the MAC regular season was 30 pts. They weren't as good the first few games in Lynch's first starts, for sure.

THIS year. And probably in a couple. But no, not historic. Yes, one has to give credit to them being in the MAC East. However, outside the MAC East, they held CMU, EMU, Toledo, and Tenn pretty well. Tenn didn't run all over them (but ran pretty darn well for any MAC team on MAC team; under 5yds/carry tho).

Quote:The last two times we've played Ohio, we've bombed them into submission badly.

Yeah, but not on the run this time. But they will give up the pass. As long as we avoid too many sacks, Terrell should do just fine and pass-bomb away. My main fear is our team being on point for the game with all the hype and attention. If that has any factor, and they penetrate the O Line which they can, despite not having good pass coverage to stuff our run pretty well, I wince. I am not Expecting a loss -- NO. I am however, not ruling one out if things don't go right. Again, Ohio has abilities, they have nothing to lose -- that's my point.

I do not Expect us to win by 18.5. I see it being an EMU/NIU game where we need to step up to keep our distance on them.

WMU needs to remain focused on the game and just win, that is the major Objective.
If there is a chance to cover the spread then WMU unfortunately needs to try achieve this secondary goal, instead of plying the secondary.

The prejudice against the MAC is still strong and a MAc team in the Cotton Bowl is definitely an important secondary goal.

Good news is that PJ FLeck will keep this team focused on the primary objective.

Should this team focus on the secondary objective then WMU might lose to Ohio, due to players trying to outdo themselves.

Focus on the basics and just," Row the Boat!".
