Even when MTSU (who help start that bowl) went... there were like 400 people there. It's a nice place, but a terrible game.

When CUSA created this bowl, they must have known that attendance would be low, unless they thought the appeal of the Bahamas would be strong enough to attract lots of fans. It sounds cool to have a bowl in the Bahamas, but did they really think attendance would be > 3k?

The last 2 years have had attendance over 13k.

Western Kentucky vs. Central Michigan 13,667
Western Michigan vs. MTSU 13,123

We have no excuses if the game is less than 10k. Sorry, those are the facts.

I want a Bowl the fans can attend and where ODU has an honest shot at bringing home the win. That said, the Bahamas works well for our Holiday Schedule and if you check it out the plane fares they are cheaper than flying to Florida. Still would love to have a real feel for what is happening BEFORE the official December 4 announcements if we can legally dig it up.

Okay, that may be the "Official attendance" and represent tickets sold but I watched both of those games and if either had more than 500 folks actually in attendance I would be amazed. No way the actual crowd approached even a third of those numbers.

Yeah, paid attendance is always higher. I tent to think people understimate butts in the seat (many fans here say 3k in the stadium, for example) I'm not sure how many showed up, but it certainly wasnt a ton to be fair. Certainly more than 500 people.

Here is a good article on the experience: http://www.sbnation.com/college-football...-hail-mary

A note, it was played on xmas eve, which I know would make it more difficult for me to go. I could go 23rd and come home for xmas on 24th, for example.

As the article mentions, there are some pros with the bowl game and as a vacation, I do think the players would love the experience of going to the Bahamas. (especially with Annapolis being the alternative)

Selfishly, I'm still rooting Military Bowl.
