Shout-out to the O-Line!
Going into this season most pundits and fan's saw the youth and inexperience of ODU's offensive line as probably the biggest question mark of the team this season. "The success of the team this season hinges on how well a piecemeal O-line can perform"; and similar statements, was the oft-repeated quandry.

Thanks to seniors Troy Butler, and Tyler Compton, the youth movement of Hendricks, Hannan, Clarke, Barnett, and Sosebee, and junior Darius Garcia, and the others who have played smaller roles or have yet to make it on to the field during a game, ODU Football and it's fans got to experience a 9-3 (7-1) season, and waits in anticipation of it's first bowl bid.

A special appreciation here goes to Sr. Tyler Fisher, a very talented guard whose career was cut short due to injury.

Thank you, and Congratulations to ODU's O-Line! You ALL were a huge part of the great success of our Monarchs this season. Now go close it out with a big bowl victory!

GO MONARCHS!!!

RE: Shout-out to the O-Line!
I was looking at this last night. Took some growing pains, as expected, but really grew over the course of the season. We have tons of experience coming back next year at OL even though most are soph. I believe we redshirted a couple really talented Ol as well. Think the OL may be talked about as highly as the DL next year.

Great post. They really did grow fast as a group. They have one more big game and next year will be a big season for them. Looking forward to seeing them continue to perform, next season will be directed that they protect a new qb well, whoever that is.

Posted from mobile device. Hopefully it's coherent.

Lawry gave them some love in a comment about his 45 yard run, saying they blocked so well anybody could have made the run. I often forget the game begins with the O-line. They did a fabulous job and I think this reflects very well on our new O-line coach. Already can't wait til next season!!

They've come a long way since the NC State game. Hopefully it carries over to a bowl victory.

The refs missed the huge face mask call on the play, looked to be a horse collar tackle from my seat.

I played line in High school. I wasn't the biggest but I managed to do ok. When I watch football I spend so much time watching the linemen. It's an art I understand I suppose. It really takes a special type of athlete to overcome not having a line doing it's job.

I remember last night in the second half saying let the big boys up front win this game as Ray and Jeremy were running all over the D. It all starts with the O Line!!! Great job Men.

Major props to the o-line for sure, but I also love the way our receivers block. On Lawry's last TD yesterday, once he got outside he got some awesome blocks from Pascal and Duhart. Our receivers are physical and love to block for one another and for the backs.

I saw the same and commented on it, but those refs missed a LOT! I couldn't believe that on the play David got hurt, the altercation afterwards, they not only didn't throw the clown out(he a hold on our guy's face mask the entire time, while the ref was trying to break them up), but never threw a penalty flag. There was a lot going on and the whole game and I thought we were headed for another WKU brawl, because the refs were doing nothing to get control of the game.
