Looks like it, maybe the ability to be close to home is really important to him and his family. If so, we definitely have the inside track.

If I'm a recruit with 5 offers, I'm taking advantage of all 5 all expenses paid visits, and all the freebies. Once in a lifetime deal for these kids.

Yeah, and WSU isn't exactly near Seattle, either. Even Spokane is a nice long drive.

P.S. I'd go for the girl friend. 02-13-banana

Always nice to get a local kid. He went to a very small high school but they were a state power. Looks like he has D1 size. Hopefully he can develop in our program. Welcome aboard.

What I found interesting, but not surprising, is that he had a PWO from Cincinnati.

As we previously posted, if someone is going to be a PWO I'd (if I were the parent) would stay in-state to save big $ on tuition.

The competition is obviously weak, but honestly, his film is as good or better than some of the other full scholarship high school OL we've recruited recently. His athleticism looks better than the other PWO we just took on as well. The size is there, and his body type and feet look pretty good. No reason he can't develop into a good MAC player with the right mindset and work ethic in our S&C program.

Bonus, he doesn't take up a scholarship if he doesn't pan out in the 1st 2 years.

Welcome Lucas!

Agree. I'm sure coaches pull their hair out trying to evaluate a prospect like this one who plays against very weak competition but really dominates.

I'd guess this is where most mistakes are made one way or the other (giving a scholarship to a recruit who isn't a FBS prospect OR failing to give a scholarship when the prospect is worthy).

The other case is WR, because a QB/system can make a decent WR look like a world beater OR a bad QB/or running system (e.g., Army) can camouflage a good WR.

Looks very similar to Tesznar. Small school guy, but with the size, frame, and feet to possibly develop into something. Multi-sport athlete is usually a good sign as well, especially if its a big guy that plays basketball.

No Canadian/German/European guy in this class? Haha

He references a signing day. I didn't think walk-ons signed anything unless the school does a ceremonial unofficial signing just for show. You sure he's a PWO?

I'll double check, but PWO can sign on signing day.

EDIT: Here is a discussion of PWO, walk-on (recruited), walk-on, etc.

https://www.athleticscholarships.net/201...alk-on.htm

And, of course, with red shirts, gray shirts, blue shirts, etc. one needs to be a compliance official to understand all of it...

Looks like he 'flipped from Butler (non-scholarship school?) to EMU.

https://www.thedzone.com/players/chelsea...fael-reyes

One thing we need to keep in mind (and I'm SURE CC and staff know) is that there is a hard 105 player limit, of ALL kind, as of the beginning of the season.

So if a school has more than 105 players who dress in August some will not be on the squad later.

RE: 2018 Football Recruiting
This is the paragraph from a post above about the hard 105 limit:

"Football is different from most other sports in that it has a roster size limit during part of the year. FBS football teams are limited to 105 participants between the start of fall camp and the first game or start of school (whichever comes first). These walk-ons have to come to campus early and the institution will be footing the bill for their housing and food during preseason practice, so it is important to distinguish who should come in early August and who should wait until school starts."
