Two JUCOs WRs + one JUCO DT.
The silver lining is that it's likely emu is targeting high school kids that are higher-ranked with more options to choose from and not offering kids that they are sure to get because emu is the only offer.

Ask for a walk ons I don't know that emu is bringing in any more than usual. It may just be that everybody puts their stuff on Twitter now so that they get their glory moment. I think schools encourage this by taking all those cute pictures of them in a uniform.

'Nickle, you make a few interesting points:

1). Schools can not release stuff on kids who have not yet signed, but as you indicate the KID or his family can say whatever he wants on social media, forums, etc. That has made information on recruiting more 'from the horse's mouth' these days and less speculation.

2). We might be getting better PWO as the quality of our scholarship recruits also get better.

All in all, much better than 25 years ago when I had to follow lists, all this and that teams from the Detroit News, Free Press, Mlive, etc.

And with Hudl I won't post some QB from a 7-man FB team is the next John Elway because he was all-league, all-county, all-state (in a state with more cattle than people), put up gaudy numbers, etc. Now we can watch Hudl and we have posters who know the game and can evaluate prospects well.

And think of boys basketball: A kid averaged 28 ppg but played against kids who were short, slow, etc. How good is he? How would he fare in Detroit PSL?

RE: 2018 Football Recruiting
Actually little downside the PWO can train with FBS facilities and coaches and decide later if he want a scholarship at a different school if one is not available at EMU. Only downside is injury.

Looks like EMU offered 2018 kicker, Chad Ryland. Not sure if it's a PWO but it's still interesting.

We had already offered a PWO to another local Kicker

Exactly. Can't afford to keep losing games via the kicking game. Last year should have been a giant wake up call to Creighton & Co. The kicking game is just as important as the offense and defense, which shouldn't be a revelation to anyone.

Just stating a fact not making a conclusion.

4 field goals, long of 34, 5 missed extra points, earns you the 24th ranking in the nation. 01-wingedeagle

Sounds like his specialty is booting kickoffs into the end zone.

If we improved our kickoffs that would be nice. But don't HS teams kickoff from the 40 and college from the 35?

I think I have this right.

Gadie, who once committed to us, now to Western Carolina.

TE Whitmer to Western New Mexico

Thanks for the scoop and good work.

Western Carolina is a FCS school and Western New Mexico is D-II.

I need not say more... 04-jawdrop

I've concluded that those of us that saw his highlight video overvalued Whitmer. That or there's something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about.

Committed to Eastern, committed to Weber State, and now committed to another school all within a short time frame. Good luck to the kid, wherever he lands.

I watched a bit of his video. Looks like he was booming kickoffs out of the end zone. That would be into the middle of the end zone in college.

Based on his rankings I am kind of thinking this kid is a scholarship recipient, and not a pwo. I guess we'll find out on Wednesday.

Yeah, this whole Whitmer thing makes no sense. His film is just fine, shows plenty of talent, backed up by actual production. Louisville thought enough of him to pay for an official visit to get him to campus. They may have been playing him and Kilby against each other, and once Kilby commited Whitmer was odd man out? Who knows. Then he ends up at Western New Mexico.....03-yawn

Whatever, WDNWHA

Odukoya already a massive upgrade and added depth at TE.

Wednesday is going to be interesting and hopefully exciting for us. I wonder if Howie and Vines will sign with us? Any pleasant surprises?
