I think it is in March.

The 1st of March.

Me too - have been in awe of GS and quickly learned to respect App as well. I never would have wagered that Coastal would have gone FBS but I think it is a good fit for us and made even better with App and GS.

Moglia and company will beat us like a drum next year, you'll be in awe of how easy it is to beat us

You guys losing a bunch of seniors this year or something?

Yes, yes they are. GS is actually laden with much of the same talent that swept their Sun Belt slate in 2014 and nearly knocked off Ga. Tech (who went on to win 11 games including the Orange Bowl) and NC State. Even last year was a really good year, where they won their bowl game over the MAC champion. Their running backs and QB are among the best in school history. This is why they're so angry at the coach for failing to utilize the talent he inherited.

So next year, they'll lose that talent, and they may or may not get yet another new coach.

Coastal ought to win that game next year.

RE: Coastal Carolina Football 2016
Question for Coastal fans: is there a particular opponent you'll miss or at least look back fondly on for playing? Anything about FCS?

I'm thrilled to death App is FBS now and in the SBC, but I do remember fondly some of the Furman games. I grew up in Greenville. My parents now live near Furman. One of my best friends who's a few years older than I am was a 1-AA All-American linebacker for them. So I'm reminded often of the games my alma mater played against them pretty often just by visiting home. The Western games never meant as much to me, personally, because it's hard to have strong feelings about a school you always win big over. I'm too young to remember the mid-80's when it was last regularly competitive.

Anyway, will you all miss playing someone like Liberty or Charleston Southern? What about the playoffs?

The really cool thing is that this is a fun league to follow. Already, we're getting a good rivalry with Arkansas State. I can see the same happening with Troy. Maybe y'all will have one with us and/or Ga. Southern. All in all it's just a big step up in quality of play and entertainment value. I wouldn't change our history, but I wouldn't change what has happened since we moved to the Sun Belt, either.

Excited to have you all in the league!

I believe CCU will be coming to Boone next year since CCU is replacing Troy on the schedule and Troy was supposed to be a home game for us.

I'm excited about the new teams we'll be playing and not concerned about who we will no longer be playing. The only thing I may miss is the playoffs but I think the conference race and bowls will fill the void nicely. The conference upgrade, especially with GS and App, as it is just way better than what we had.

Yeah, I'm not gonna miss playing in the Big South (this includes games against Liberty or Charleston Southern). Personally, I get more excited when we play Furman or The Citadel from the SoCon or a team from the CAA.

The FCS Playoffs were cool but we'd always get put in North Dakota State's half of the bracket, Lol.

I am looking forward to forming new rivalries with all of the Sun Belt institutions, but especially Appalachian State, Georgia Southern, & Georgia State (simply due to geography).

Liberty just because it was a solid rivalry and my wife went there.

Can't WAIT to take that 31/2hr drive south from Gville SC to myrtle. I personally sent an email to commissioner Benson to lobby for CCU in joining the Funbelt
