I thought AState was all in on NMSU?

We were and still are, but that is independent of Coastal Carolina. We were fine with an East expansion, provided that school was not named Liberty or EKU. We'd still like to bring NMSU in full time.

Pretty much.

I welcome another rivalry. Just means another game the fans really treat as something special. We lost our "Old Mountain Jug" game with WCU. And they weren't much of a rival in terms of recent football game outcomes.

I like APP and their fans. I found out they can be rattled a bit so I try to stir them up when I can. Eric in particular. It's a good program who is most likely going to stay that way. GS is the same way except the current hick up. I am rarely serious...I know you probably can't tell but if I find someone who is very serious I loveto dig at them. Yeah it's a character fault...but I like me and I don't care if people don't like me. Some people take sports-entertainment to much to heart.

Alright, so we have one year to design a trophy for this series then...Lets go.

Eric is half ECU Fan, it's not really a challenge to mess with him.

If the schedule rotates like I understand, we'll play them 8 straight years starting in 2018 before the teams take off again. Potentially could face them twice some years with the SBC TItle game

Starting in 2018, I'm pretty sure we'll play every year, last game of the season.

That could be fun as long as we both are playing at the same level.

Preferably in Jonesboro.

I mean, the idea of playing App in a title game is awesome. The Idea of playing App in Boone in Early December is not awesome. Maybe they'll be nice and let Georgia Southern and Troy rotate in every now and then.

If we go to two five-team divisions and continue playing eight conference games/season, we'd play four of the five teams from the opposite division each year. So, A-State and App State would play 8 times every ten years. That is of course assuming no further changes to SBC membership.

The ASUs should play in Nashville.

I did....but that's still a good central location of our conference footprint.

Not sure about a 10-hour drive. How about somewhere along the gulf coast?

I thought AState was all in on NMSU?

AState was 100% supportive of NMSU and being offered EKU and Liberty did nothing to change that. Once it became apparent and NMSU couldn't get the votes and App made a great case for Coastal, AState was all in for Coastal.

But if the topic of expansion comes up, yeah AState will advocate for NMSU.

Hope the layoff doesn't hurt. The two year gap with Troy cut back the intensity some.

Just curious: Why was A-State opposed to EKU?
