Do you have a link? I have been looking for the rules.
It is mentioned here. http://conferenceusa.com/sports/2016/7/1...html.aspx?

Ok then that's a pretty important caveat. I would then think that MTSU goes to New Mexico since it'll get slotted before UTSA or UNT (assuming those two get win #6 this week), but I think MTSU (and C-USA) would want to give Stockstill as much time to heal so he could hopefully play. New Mexico is too early. Other than HOD and the I-Bowl, Hawaii is the next latest, so I still think MTSU ends up there.
Now, if the I-Bowl comes open and WKU goes to Boca, whichever between HOD and I-Bowl Tech doesn't take could go to MTSU, especially with those being the latest two. If Stockstill gets healthy and MTSU gets its mojo back, they can play with anyone C-USA would face in bowl season.

Looks likely unless C-USA is able to pull off a trade.

The HOOD wants the HOD.
A rematch with North Texas would be cool for Army fans but I understand the C-USA wants a P5 conference team.

I think that we would like a P5 team if possible, and rematches are typically avoided as well. If it were Army in the HOD it would likely be against someone other than UNT.

Yeah, I know. My post is my preference as an Army fan.

I have mixed feelings about that.
On one hand, I didn't go when we played Army in '13 and wish I had.
On the other hand, I like playing someone new.
It would be a chance for revenge, as well as a chance to FINALLY beat a service academy (0-4 against Army & Navy).
But I would much rather play a P5 team. Plus, the option scares me with our defense...
Oh, and I can't boo and say mean things about Army like I could literally anyone else (other than Navy and Air Force, obviously), which is one of the best parts of the student section lol
Oh btw, I hope y'all finally break the streak and #SinkNavy this year.

Sure you can. Just stop giving the football away.
Go Monarchs, Herd, and Eagles, in that order.

A bit off topic, but the third longest bowl drought in college football (28 years) will end this year. Congrats to Eastern Michigan who secured their first winning season in over 20 years last night.

I see no reason why Southern Miss can't beat LT at home.....assuming Mullins plays and they don't turn it over 4 times. Maybe that is too much to ask though. Southern Miss has outgained every single opponent (sans LSU); many by large margins. It is simply all about the turnovers

I doubt USM out gains LT, they might outscore us, but stopping our offense if it is clicking with now three very dangerous receivers and two very good backs will be difficult to say the least. We have QB that is just getting better every game and I do not know where his ceiling is, he may not have reached it yet. Should USM have a turnover problem, it will be disastrous for them as it would be for LT also if they have a turnover problem. The LT defense is not great, but improved and can play with some fire and intensity at times, I just hope the real LT shows up Friday.

I see no reason why ODU could have been competitive with WKU, you just needed to score 51 more points in the first half and held WKU. It simply all about scoring a lot .... a lot of more points.

This was the same poster that posted WKU had the 18th best schedule in FBS, take that post with a grain of salt.

RE: Who goes to what bowl?
Yeah, I wasn't suggesting they should have a significant yardage edge on LT, just that Southern Miss is a very good team....outside of turning the ball over. I don't think I can ever remember a team that moves the ball as well as they do, but just turn it over an obscene amount of times.
I don't seem them shutting down LT by any means. But, they are at home with the motivation of a bowl game. They have a very good offense when not turning it over so they should be able to score plenty of points on LT. Any halfway decent offense LT has played has moved the ball and score 24 points or more so USM should be able to approach the 30s if Mullens plays. Its just a matter of not handing LT the ball in your own territory and stopping their offense a handful of times.
Is USM actually motivated to get to a bowl game?
