Not really. The term homosexual isn't hateful per se. It is if someone uses it to deny the existence of a Gay community or to reduce LGBT people to sex, then people will take it as an insult.

It is a clinical term most commonly used to describe sexual relations between members of the same sex. A doctor should ask a patient "do you have homosexual sex?" rather than "Are you Gay?" because assuming the patient will answer correctly, someone could reject the label of Gay but be having all kinds of homosexual sex.

You guys largely live in a bubble. Most of you live in Trumpworld. Your world is largely male, overwhelmingly white, less urban, much more accepting of LGBT discrimination, etc. than America at large. That's part of the issue with being on a College sports board. College sports fans tend to be really male, really white, and really conservative.

Most of us actually see and hear other people who disagree with us. Its the liberals who insist on living in liberal bubbles. They may have conservatives around them, but with the liberal hatred bubbling on the surface, they won't hear any dissenting opinions and will think everyone agrees with them.

At least you do engage, unlike many liberals who simply call names.

So who is going to throw the first punch so to speak? How large is the Homosexual Militia? Will this be similar to Isis style attacks of terror? Just curious.

RE: We Need To Listen to Each Other
I love how all of a sudden, when the left loses, it's NOW time to listen to each other. Conservatives and other Trump voters have been told for the past 8 years how to think, how to feel about things, how you're ALLOWED to feel about things, and that pretty much everything we believe in is wrong, racist, bigoted, or ignorant.

Almost 60,000,000 Americans voted for Trump. He won the electoral vote.

It is time for the LEFT to listen.

I'm sorry, but those dark blue spots don't get to dictate things.

Guess what happened yesterday when she went out of the house (after we assured her not to worry about it)? Yeah...

She's literally crying and refusing to leave our home now.

I'm not afraid of Trump and I'm not afraid of his policies; I'm afraid of the box he's opened. I'm afraid of the things it's letting people think they can say and do. This is Trump's America now; what was "politically incorrect" (for good reasons) is now out in the open.

God help us all.

I was afraid of the things Hillary would not allow us to say and the things she would let people think they could do.

Can you come up with a new schtick now? It was entertaining for a day or two but padding your post count for no reason has become a bit tedious.

Here's a bombshell for you:

We don't have a nation-wide election. Not a single one. We have 50 separate state elections to determine which Presidential candidate that state will support. Your >0.2% populate vote majority doesn't mean anything and never has. In this election, the only popular votes that mattered at the end were those in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. Those three states decided not to join the Left Coast Line, New England, Chicago and New York City.

Popular vote = mob rule.

As a "minority" you should comprehend how bad mob rule could turn out for folks who are outnumbered.

Look, don't claim you have more support. Or that you have some sort of mandate from the people. I'm just not going to let you do that.

You can say...we should STFU because DJT got fewer votes than HRC and that's the rules that were put in place.

Civil discourse is basically nonexistent on the Internet and in most of the media from both sides, and this thread isn't doing anything to change that perception.

As someone who voted for Hillary, I'd be more than willing to engage in a healthy debate, but the little time I've been thumbing through this board doesn't fill me with confidence that we'd get very far.

And just as Obama told the Congressional Republicans in 2009, "Elections have consequences". There was no talk of unity, or coming together, or working together to develop the democratic strategy. Why should it exist now? What is there to discuss anyway? He has a 100 day strategy that was just approved by the American people.

When Obama took over the presidency after running on a platform to fundamentally change this country, conservative and moderate republicans were in shock. This country was headed towards the biggest ingestion of liberalism that had ever existed. It was scary. But there were no protests in the streets. If there ever was a time to scream racism it was then. Now the pendulum is swinging back. No big deal. I'm actually hopeful Trump can repeal many of the regulations that will free up our economy and get rid of the health care act that is a disaster, and we can get back to some good ole fashioned gridlock.

By the way, how can you not be impressed with what our founding fathers have put in place.

04-cheers

Obama actually WON the popular vote. And Obama was conciliatory. DJT is running around like he's George Wallace in the 1960s. And his supporters are acting like that too. Oh and he LOST the popular vote. No mandate.
Obama was not the least bit conciliatory. He ignored the opposition except when he was insulting their motives. I had hopes that he would bring us together. I was wrong. He is the only president, including the slick rapist, who made me feel like he wasn't my president. He only wanted to be president of those who agreed with him.

Saying I will work with you if you adopt my policies and quit being racists who hate poor people and are taking bribes from corporations is not being conciliatory. Obama is an incredible narcissistic jerk who only doesn't look so bad right now because Clinton and Trump ran for president.

They do. But mandates need to be earned or the legitimacy of the results will be questioned.

DJT didn't win a mandate.

I'm represented by the one dark spotted county in SC. This county vote 59% for DJT.

We also have a Cracker Barrel & Whole Foods... weird huh!

We also have more engineers per capita than any other county in the US. We were once , The Textile Capital Of The World !

So I'll take that spot all day every day.

Super well said and what I was awkwardly trying to get at with my posts regarding Minorities "mob ruling" the minority within their own ranks.

Looking through Tom's eyes however.....the USA has voted red on every level of Goverment down to the state and local level. I understand his fear but he just doesn't understand his loss. It has nothing to do with sexuality, ethnicity or color of skin even though that's what he wants to make it about.

Trump is so damn arrogant. Not only does he want to be the President of the United States, he wants to be the BEST President that we've ever had.
Only way to do that is to be a President for ALL the people.

And there in lies Tom's biggest fear I suspect.

Who needs a mandate? No damn body.

President
Senate
House
Supreme Court
Majority of State Governments
Majority of County and City Governments

You don't need a mandate to legislate, just the legislative majority.
