Regardless of the hometown point of view of the paper, which I agree is to be expected, the quotes attributed to Talley are demeaning to JMU. Talley just can't admit his squad got beat, instead it's all on his team's poor play. By contrast, Houston was all grace and compliments. So, FU Nova. As much as I hate Delaware, I hope the blue chickens clean Talley's clock next Saturday and Nova misses the playoffs.

I don't think there is anything Talley could say to get me to root for UD over VU. My dislike of UD is FAR greater than VU. UD is #1 on my dislike list..

I like Talley. I emailed him after the "Hail Mary" in '08 and quickly received a response saying that he hoped they didn't have to play us again in the playoffs and that he had the utmost respect of MM and our program. He won me over.

Yeah, same here. He was wrong in basically saying Schor was the whole offense. On the one hand that was dissing the rest of the offense. On the other hand Schor has been awesome this year, and he has been the straw that stirs the drink so to speak on offense. I'm sure Talley was trying to heap praise on Schor, and lets be frank, the JMU offense didn't do much after Schor went down. It was the JMu defense that set up the scoring. I know a lot of us thought we were screwed when Schor went down and Johnson went in with the score tied at 7 and the history the JMU defense.

While what he said about his offense may have been true, he should have publicly been more complimentary of the JMU defense. I'll give the old man a pass.

Agree, and will add that many times things are stated with a mic/recorder stuck in your face that maybe could/should have been stated a little different. In no way do I think he has little praise for our D after the effort our boys dished out.

Was he the one who claimed to have something on Talley and never gave up the goods?

Something about the Villanova coach having changed his name? Though I don't remember specifically who had the beef w/ Talley, I do remember the hatred towards him.

I remember, who ever it was, went silent for quite awhile, then started posting again after he thought his post was forgotten.

RE: VILLANOVA GAME
johnjmu98 or jmujohn98 (whichever it is) has a standard Andy Talley story he likes to tell about Andy changing his name because he was allegedly ashamed of being Italian or something. Kinda funny that he cares about that, but posted something incredibly anti-Semitic once without a second thought...

That poster always pretends like he's got inside info dirt on every coach. Think he's friendly with Defillipo or at least claimed to be.

JMUjohn98 doesn't pretend. He has more knowledge and connections inside of JMU and in the coaching business than you all know.

Couldn't agree more with this statement. Say what you want to, but the guy is in the know. If he says he there is story behind Talley, you can bet a$$ that there is.

I'm fairly certain he and Flip were roommates/suitemates at some point, I know they talk/text with each other all the time.

RE: VILLANOVA GAME
Against Villanova, losing QB Schor was akin to having a nice selection of ammunition without a functioning weapon. I know the freshman will deliver for JMU in the future, but against a defense as strong as Villanova's, none of us expected him to step in mid-game with a seamless transition.

I really do hope that he gets plenty of reps to build some chemistry - it's hard to buy what Coach Houston is selling on Schor's return. This offense is truly loaded with talent on the line and at the skill positions, so plenty of reason for optimism either way.

Based on Houston's comments, it sounds more like a dislocation or bruise. Either of those injuries can be a short recovery time with regard to playing time. Healing obviously takes longer, but with a dislocation what damage is done is immediate. Soreness for several days, some good physical therpay and presto chango he's back. Just an alternate theory of the crime, your honor.

RE: VILLANOVA GAME
Here's something to add to the Talley-changed-his-name story. Back in 1994 when we played Nova in Harrisonburg, Coach (Jay) Paterno came into the Offensive meeting room and said something about Talley being ashamed of being Italian and that's why we should beat them on that particular day. It was kind of a head-scratching moment for me, but at the time I was the back-up left tackle, so I didn't see the field that day anyway. We did have a few guys of Italian decent on the team at the time; I guess it motivated them?

I'm mostly of Scottish decent and whenever I see someone with a color as a last name, I automatically assume they use to be a Campbell. The Campbells sold out the Highland clans to the English at the massacre at Glencoe. Many Campbells changed their names to colors when they moved to the US. Campbells are not welcome in the Highlands to this day. Maybe Talley's real last name has a similar history with Italians; pure speculation on my part.

I believe that was GRRM's inspiration for the Red Wedding in GoT.
