To all the Doc Sadler defenders
How ya feel about your boy going to double OT with MS College? How long are ya going to blame the previous coach? Just like some people (not necessarily on this board) blame LF for our football downfall. This is year 3 right?

Another long, boring season with 18+ losses ahead for the basketball program.

RE: To all the Doc Sadler defenders
Starting Point Guard (our best player) was out. Davis got got hurt early and only played a few minutes. Doc called exactly zero plays for the first 30 minutes, wanted to let the kids figure the offensive end out on their own, which is what most coaches do early. Lots of new faces, Juco walk ons being major contributors. We only have 10 scholarship players. Played with 7 of them most of the night.
Yes it's year 3, but coming off the sanctions, its more like year one. Last night was not encouraging, but it was an exhibition, with all of the factors listed above playing a role. Every single year a big name gets beat or almost beat by a D-2 or NAIA team. It happens. Chill.
We are better than last year in my opinion. I think we win 12-15 games. If we win less than 10 again, call for Sadler's head all you want. But basing off an exhibition without our best player is dumb. And yes, it's still Tyndall's fault. He is the sole reason why we only have 10 scholarship players. And why several left because of the NCAA trouble.

...what tyndall did to basketball was even more destructive than what HWNSNBS did to football.

We could hire someone else but with the talent we got it wouldn't matter.

Until it's no longer justified, which means at least one full season to recruit without impending penalties looming over us, no postseason ban, and a scholarship allowance reduced by no more than one. We're just getting started on the first two of those things, and the third is still going to be a while yet.

I don't even consider myself a Sadler supporter. I'm still on the fence about the guy. I just try to point out that the guy still can't be evaluated fairly. To me next year is the year when you can make a decision.

And it's not even close. Johnson killed the momentum and wrecked the roster, but Monken didn't have to recruit with an NCAA hammer hanging over his head, and football just failed to make the post-season, it wasn't barred from it going in.

Reggie - you simply have no clue whatsoever about the damage done to this program by Tyndall nor what it is going to take to be good at basketball again. Do you just sit around trying to think about ignorant statements to post ? Not sold on Doc myself, but any knowledgeable observer realizes he cannot be evaluated fairly at this point. Chill out and let those who actually played sports and understand the game inform you for awhile.

So youre disagreeing with my quote? That is inaccurate?
I understand that Doc walked into a tough situation. I understand it would be hard to win cusa under this situation. However, im not buying off on the situation giving him a pass on it taking 2 OTs to beat ms college in year 3. Nor an excuse to losing to jackson state two years in a row by 20 pts. Nor losing to William carey at home. Nor losing to 7-22 Troy at home by 10 or to georgia st at home by 20 pts or to 4-26 utsa by 21 pts, etc. Not after having consecutive 20+ win seasons.
Do you think john calipari would have walked into the same situation and had consecutive 20 loss seasons like Doc? You seem to be very knowledgeable. Id love to hear your opinion on that.

And it was a close game. Imagine that.
How many of their 10 did they have to fill while under a postseason ban and with even more, unknown, penalties on the way? Just sayin'.

Ill say, as ive said before to Docs credit, he has the kids play hard and they dont quit. Maybe he will turn it around but that exhibition isnt encouraging.

Calipari would have gone out and BOUGHT MORE talent. So yes, he might have won a few more games. And how is it making a point when you use Calipari as the comparison ? Doc has one as many as 90 percent of the other D1 coaches in the country could have won and probably won as many as 99 % of the ones who would take the job at Southern Miss.

If we lose to tougaloo or union tennessee, is it excused bc of DT? Just needing to know what my expectations should be. Thanks.
