While we fans are hoping that there is not a huge Auburn crowd there, it seems that the AD office is hoping there will be a huge Auburn crowd and we can gouge them for all we can.
Auburn should not cost as much (or more) than North Carolina did a couple of years ago.
The market will allow the $35 ticket. Get real.
Which is why we have this thread begging people to buy tickets they don't need...
The thread is for UAB fans to show up to a big game. That is the problem, not the price. Don't you think? The tickets will sell.
Just asking. What do people think would be a fair price for this game? $25?
I would gladly pay $35 if:
a) We regularly sold out and a ticket to a UAB basketball game was a tough one to get
b) The opponent was a historically legit program or has had recent success and is projected to continue that success
c) I was in a financial situation that it just didn't matter to me (Because I'm a UAB fan and really want to be at every game I can be).
As it stands, I would probably draw the line in the neighborhood of $20 a ticket. But that's probably just because I'm not all that fired up about us playing Auburn, just because they are an in-state P5.

RE: Auburn Tickets
It's supply & demand, Business 101.
8,500 @ $35 > 8,500 @ $25.
When our coaches salaries go up in the future, you'll see $50 ticket prices for premium games

RE: [split] Auburn Tickets Price Discussion - ***** Here
Just a couple quick examples:
St. Mary's single game tickets are $30 for GA & $45 for reserved for their marquee home game against BYU.
VCU is charging $55/ticket for their home game against Ga Tech (picked last in ACC). They've also had more recent success than us though.
ODU is charging between $28-$38 for their home game against VCU.

If anyone needs cheap basketball tickets, they can go to Samford games for $8, with free admission for kids under 12.

RE: [split] Auburn Tickets Price Discussion - ***** Here
An SEC home game is automatically a big home game, no matter who or how lousy. It's a "real game", against someone the unwashed have heard of. A home game against UA or AU is automatically much bigger, if for no other reason than their local fans will pack the place.
Auburn vs. Samford tickets were $45 dollars. Are you going to b**** about the price and tell me that watching *Your Blazers* kick hell out of AU isn't worth ten dollars less? It's both the biggest non-con game and biggest on the schedule in terms of local interest, other than for a title race.
Get used to it, guys. As our programs get better, things will get more expensive. It's a sign of life and catching a clue in the Athletic Department. This is the one sure sellout on our home schedule, and they're milking the event for as much money as they can. Good for us, it helps the budget, and if the UAB fans are too cheap to pay it, Auburn's fans gladly will.

What is with all the snarky remarks? Auburn is not a great opponent, UAB basketball tickets aren't even close to being in high demand, and a lot of people have a hard time paying $20 a game, much less $35. Jeez. What is so hard to understand about that? Enjoy the game.

I agree, a tiered system would have been better.

North Carolina was a "sure sellout" too but it wasn't. Because its basketball in a football city and many said the prices were a factor.
This game is the same day as a football game that many in the city will be glued to. I'll be surprised if it sells out.

No one is bitching. I would love to see this game. Absolutely love it. We aren't too "cheap." How insulting. It's that people and families literally cannot afford fifteen extra dollars per person. I don't know what world y'all are living in, but most of the citizens of Birmingham proper aren't exactly rolling in the dough. And seriously, let's not kid ourselves- we don't have a massive fan base, and we won't build one by price-gouging tickets.

Well, my ass will be there.
I've been broke and have both missed and gotten to games. I know how it is to be short of cash all too well. Anyone with any extras please post them here when the time comes.

I didn't mean to cause any controversy. I was trying to get a handle on what the difference would be and offer assistance, if wanted, by subsidizing the difference between the regular price ticket to a fair value for a select number of tickets.

I'll be there too. I know $35 a ticket isn't what we are used to, but this isn't a normal game. I'm sorry if people can't afford the tickets, but Uab is doing the right thing here trying to make what they can off of this game. There are plenty of other games at home this year that won't cost as much.
