Oh lord stop it with the Smear Campaign. A see lot of reaching being done and it's sad how easily people get offended in this world for the most petty things. With that said it wouldn't hurt for some "keyboard commandos" to grow some thick skin. Everett Withers has done nothing but say good things about App State. He has even gone out of his way to correct local reporters on pronunciation of Appalachian. So when people claim he made some sort of a vindictive comment it comes across as rubbish to me. As for JMU he has done the same and always spoke of them in a positive light too. So when another claims he is narcissistic he's not. Withers does not believe he's set apart from anyone so please stop that charade too.

Geez, talk about over exaggeration! There is no smear campaign, we just didn't appreciate the comments he made about App and UNC-CH. This has nothing to do with Texas State. BTW, I could care less how much he praises App 1200 miles away to a bunch of folks at a conference school. I'd like to see the reaction of Bobcat fans if an alum said he settled for accepting a scholarship at Texas State, but really would have rather been at Texas. The place he loves and it is a dream come true for him to be there.

So he graduated from App, took a job later at UNC, and had the nerve to say good things about Carolina . . . WTF did you expect, that he'd "Bad Mouth" UNC while employed there?

Grow the hell up . . .

Kidding, right? Every HS football player in Texas would rather go to UT than anywhere else. It's their dream school. (ok, unless their family are members of the A&M cult)

It'll be okay guys.

Withers certainly thinks very highly of himself.

It's a given that App will put up 500+ yards and can name the score.

Still carrying that torch .. ... .03-lmfao

Tell me if anything I said is inaccurate.

And yes, I have taken a lot of pleasure in his struggles. Nothing against Texas State.
JMU2004 I know this is off the main topic so if you want to respond in a direct message that's fine...but after seeing the success App and GS have had in the Sunbelt, knowing the conference will split into very nice East/West divisions, and knowing JMU had a shot to join ranks, how do you and other JMU fans feel about your future? And if you'd been the AD would you have accepted a Sunbelt offer when it was made?

I think JMU made a mistake passing on the SBC. I think a good amount of JMU fans agree.

Hope we can figure out a way to join App, as we are natural rivals on and off the field.

I hope your administration feels that way if the opportunity arises again. JMU would be a natural fit in the Eastern Division of the Belt and the rivalry with App was just heating up in FCS.

I have. It's good, don't get me wrong, but the hog produces a superior smoked meat IMO.

I'm not going to say one's better than the other. It's like saying apples are better than pears or vice versa. Both are great if prepare properly.

Texas State, wanted to say thanks for David Mayo. I think he's going to be a good one.

You can say positive things about your employer w/o tossing your alma mater under the bus. That may not bother you, but it does a great deal of App fans. Have some pride in your school.

North Carolinians can't even agree on which BBQ is best. Eastern or Lexington style. But either one beats Texas CowBQue.
