If we don't win I think it comes down to whether USA or GS is bowl eligible, if USA is we go to the Cure, if GS is we head back to Camellia IMO.
DG is a good bowl, despite the name. Mobile is a cool city, and we'd get the MAC champ, which very well could be Western Michigan if they don't get the access bowl.

I think if the bowl eligible teams are USA, Ga Southern, App, Troy, Idaho and stAte, that USA might be the odd man out. Even if USA finishes 8-4. I think we're probably still bowling, but its a bit shaky at this point.
Here's the problem
Arizona will want Idaho
Troy probably goes to New Orleans
Dollar General picks App or stAte (and probably wont pick USA)
Camellia will pick App or stAte
Cure will pick Ga Southern over USA (perhaps if Ga Southern is 6-6 and USA is 8-4) they won't.

stAte cant want mobile again can they? They've had enough of Toledo right? The Camelia is the MAC's worst bowl so they will get a CMU or EMU or Akron type team... Hardly a reward for App State. I'd throw that bowl stAte so they can pick up a win in a low rated game.

Yeah, I think we're all Mobile'd out for a few more years. I wouldn't mind the Cure Bowl since I'll already be at Disney at that time.

Agreed. Not a good time of the year to be trying to do that at all for me. basically any bowl but DG bowl for me. (no Arizona either lol)

New Orleans- TROY
Dollar General- APP ST
Camellia- stAte
Cure- USA
Arizona- Idaho
I think this is close. I'm swapping Ga Southern and USA though.

Maybe. But I like USAs chances better right now. their schedule looks good.
I think we finish 7-5.
There's a reason USA fans should be worried about this bowl season. Idaho would be the first pick for the Tuscon Bowl. We could go 8-4, beat a ranked team, beat a P5 and stay home.
I think we'll be fine, as I think there won't be enough bowl eligible teams. But its a bit shaky at this point.
I think TROY goes 9-3. I think we'll beat UMass, AppSt & TXST

I wouldn't be that certain Arizona would want Idaho over USA, and even if they did then if the Sun Belt had 6 eligible teams I bet some horse trading occurs and Idaho ends up in the Potato Bowl. That's the one bowl that would really, really want Idaho.

Hard to say. You've got to deal with bowl eligible AState and Troy both of whom travel well, and there's still South Alabama hanging around.
My guess is that if App wins the league it goes like this: App-NO Troy-DG AState-Montgomery. Much of what happens has to do with which teams are going to play where. For instance, if Southern Miss appears to be the CUSA NO Bowl rep, I doubt that Troy goes to New Orleans because they've already played. If say, North Texas at 6-6 becomes the CUSA New Orleans bowl rep, you might see an agreement to send AState to new Orleans, even at potentially 7-5 to allow App and Troy to match up against stronger opponents out of the MAC.
Here's what I am leaning now
New Orleans: App vs Southern Miss
Dollar General: Troy vs Toledo
Montgomery: AState vs Akron.
Date wise it makes far more sense for Troy to play in Mobile this year because of the reduced travel.

I thought that last year too, but after seeing how Mobile treats the teams, I'd go back in a heartbeat. It's a great week for your team and fans. Don't hate on it at all.
You're also the ONLY game on TV that night. Not having to share with a full slate puts your program even more in the spotlight.
New Orleans Bowl also had a bull**** kickoff time last year. I wouldn't want to do it just based on that.

Thanks Chief.
I say date for App only because we will sale the fewest tickets to Mobile of any of the destinations, probably 60-70% of what we take to the next lowest due to the date. If we go to Orlando my crew will be 16 (we'd take kids), NO - 10, Camellia - 8 (some of the ladies won't go), DG - 4 or 5.

There will be 3 of us traveling to whichever one it is, minus Zone. Go Apps!

I'm hoping for Troy vs Western Michigan in Dollar General Bowl, but that's just me. I think that would be a game I would like to go see in person.. I just hope we get bowl eligible and go to a bowl game where it is within driving distance.

Just asking here... GS fans, have you EVER thought it might be a great idea to at least consider firing your coach after this year's over with? Seriously, just wondering...

I don't want that bowl just because the date sucks for me... but I got a feeling it's where we will end up.

RE: Latest Bowl Projections 10/30
Somewhat troubling result out of the MAC last night...
Miami OH beat CMU. CMU still bowls if they beat Ohio or @ EMU (they might be an underdog, but its probable that they get one of them). Miami now is 4-6 and will bowl if they win @Buffalo AND vs Ball State at home (both are likely).
Why is this important? Because the MAC has so many backup agreements in place that an extra MAC team will likely go over an extra Belt team AND it would get the MAC into a bowl where a Belt team could get an upgrade.
Its possible that the result is that CMU AND Miami OH don't bowl, but its now far more likely that they both bowl.

We got some good news out of the MAC tonight. 1-8 Bowling Green upset Akron on the road. That knocks Akron 5-6 and they must win at 7 wins but somehow lost to Texas State, Ohio in 2 weeks to get eligible. They'll be underdogs in that one for sure.

Akron has a depth issue. They tried to fill their holes with transfers, but it hasn't worked out.
