Long time PA announcer Paul Bailey passed away yesterday. Very sad news. I got to know Paul during the 3 years I covered UC baseball. He always made even the worst games more enjoyable.

Great guy. Knew him from the workplace as well as Bearcat games. Always enjoyed razzing him about difficult names to pronounce before games. A "PB" logo would be quite fitting on team jerseys in his honor. A true Bearcat, RIP Paul.

Sorry to learn of this and condolences to his family and close friends. His rich voice was a big part of our game experience for many years.

I thought he was still announcing as recently as last week's ECU game but I may be mistaken. Anyone know if that was the case?

I believe you're right. I think he did the basketball scrimmage as well
