You do realize the winner has had to jump on a plane and travel for their next game. Unless they have changed it, Clemson had to travel half way across the country the year they played and play the next game in less than 24 hours. They were tired and it showed. No legs. Maybe the committee noticed that problem and has fixed it. I don't really know.

It was also the position VCU was in when they went to the Final 4, and we run a similar style as they do. So it can be argued either way. We have the depth and style of play to handle the turnaround just fine. Especially since we play a Thursday-Saturday schedule in CAA play.

If we beat Clemson we should be #2. I know they do it by conference but it's rather silly that Gonzaga is in this poll

St. Mary's slips ahead of UNCW as we move to #3. However, we have remained consistently at the top of this poll for quite some time. I guess going 6-0 in conference will do that.

I'm a bit surprised the Hawks' aren't getting more ink from this site as a result of our #3 spot and our consistency there. I see stories week after week about different players, teams and mid major conferences, but very little about the Seahawks, their players or the CAA in general.

This clash between UNCW and CofC would, you'd think, be a major story for their site, but it isn't even mentioned. Makes me wonder where their writers hail from, since it seems west coast teams are in their spotlight more often.

I guess being ranked #3 should be good enough, but the CAA and UNCW are making waves at the midmajor level and I expected more.

The west coast DOES get underappreciated sometimes, so I can be sympathetic to that. But yeah, we deserve more attention on a site whose pollsters love us.

SNO8, you should set up a blog there about UNCW and the CAA. It's easy to do and you can easily post it to social media. Set up an account and check it out.

Eh, unfortunately, that would be a bit of a conflict of interest to do anything official like that (even if I'm not getting paid for it), since I do work part-time with UNCW Athletics throughout the athletic calendar. I've avoided doing anything in the "gray area" like that just to stay on the safe side.

I'd bet that tons of people who write have ties, and even work for the universities they write about.

I'm sure they do, and yeah, I'm probably safe. I just try to be cautious with this stuff.

If it's something you want to do and would enjoy, ask someone. I'm sure you could get an answer if it's ok or not. You'd be good at it!

I agree, you have a good knowledge base that many appreciate and many more would if you decided to do it.

I don't see any conflict whatsoever between volunteering at UNCW sporting events and writing you X's and O's opinion on them and the CAA as a whole.04-cheers

That's a pretty popular site for midmajors, and UNCW and the CAA could use some good information and press about our teams and players made available to a nationwide audience. You could use some of the stuff you throw together on this site. I really see no difference in posting here or there since neither will pay you.....
