I thought Marshall would be on a roll, playing some great football and USM would be playing some sound football and this game would be a war with a packed house at the Rock. Now, it looks like a match of two teams limping into this game coming off some terrible games. It might be who makes the fewest mistakes wins this one. I have no clue what USM team to expect. The one that beat Kentucky or the one that got b#tch slapped by UTSA. Oh well, we shall see. Hope any Marshall fans making the trip safe travels.

We are an appropriate home coming opponent this year and your students and alumni should have a very enjoyable day. Looking at the schedule, I'm not sure we reach 3 wins and 4 would be an accomplishment. There is something very wrong in Herdville, player dissention, apathy, in-fighting. Coaches not able, or not willing, to get it righted. Two offensive linemen booted in the last few weeks (non-starters, but depth), our best RB hasn't had a carry in 3 weeks after being named a captain for the Pitt game. It's all very strange.

What Banker said is true. It's a dumpster fire. Enjoy the homecoming victory. MT and WKU will have a field day.

Must admit, it is shocking given the job Doc had done up to this year. As for USM, we have our share of issues it would seem. Hopefully the bye week last week gave these new coaches a chance to see if they really can coach. I have my doubts about that right now.

I've just never seen a team fall apart like this, and that includes what happened to you guys, because there were no major changes that would have led to upheaval. No real coaching turnover, returning QB, a lot of pieces back on both sides of the ball. Knew we wouldn't be a 10 win team, but should have been around 8. This is 100% something foul in the locker room and it's just getting worse.

we didn't in '12 either....

years like that will hurt your feelings....we absorbed a dose of the humble pie....

I think we were the first to win 12 then lose the next 12+...hell, we only 1 the following season....it's never happened in the history of CF...and that was truly the biggest CF ever as a fan.....

damndest thingy I've ever witnessed in my 51 years on this planet....

The year we finished 10-3 and won the New Orleans Bowl (2009) was followed up by a 6-7 season in which we lost in the Mobile Bowl with a Senior QB.

In 2011, we led Purdue in our first game most of the way and lost the game by allowing Purdue a busted play TD in the last minute of the game.

We did beat Memphis and FAU to start 2-4............. then the bottom fell out and we finished 2-10.

So it happens.

Thank God we righted the ship in 2012 at 8-4.

I fully expect Marshall to turn it around soon, if not this year.
