that's the 64k question at this point....cortisone injections can do wonders in a moment....

we'll see if he can go down field saturday.....

believe and yap what you want....proof's in the pudding on the field....

and as I've stated too many times, "I hope I'm wrong"

just to give you a little fuzzy.....we opened -9 and shot to -16.5....

the only ones that really know are Mullens and a handful on the staff....

I'll do a few drive by visits to see what's really up this week....

While i'm not a fan of the OC our Defense is absolutely the problem. We gave up 28 at home to Rice then lost to USTA by 22 we are scoring 35+ a game so as much as i dont like the OC and the game plans we should be blaming the Defense.

I think everyone is in agreement.....however, all three facets are dropping the ball

dropped balls and lack of audibles that lend to 3 and out, lends to D overtime fatigue coupled with missing too many assignments due to piss arse coaching....

toss in our kick coverage and the third facet puts even more pressure on the D....

if Hop doesn't reevaluate his buddy coaching system after this year????....he's done once his contract expires......and so is southern miss continuance to not recognize what it takes to be successful over the long term as the schematic continually changes....

edit: another caveat to toss out....they're calling for Doc's head at this point in Huntington.....what's worse for us????? we have a cato (in talent, not speed...that's why the thumb is 'so important') .....and toss in the tools to go with it this year....that is the crux IMO where Daws_n is really screwin' da pooch....

RE: Our next opponent
Just got through watching every pass attempt in the 2nd half vs. LSU. Hand did not seem to bother him at all.

Edit: Hand did not seem to affect any of his throws...now the DE's rushing off the ends...that's another story, but his velocity wasn't an issue.

We've got to take shots downfield. We've got a plethora of WRs...Thompson, Staggers, Jones, Ricard, Robertson, Whitehead, Holmes....gotta get those guys involved.

It's 4th and 2 vs. LSU....and we decided to try to run it for a first down...play-calling like that is what kills me.

I have no clue what to expect from our team in this game. We could come out and roll by 30..then again we could come out, turn the ball over 5 times and give up 300 yards rushing and get rolled.

Against these scab teams our talent on offense will be enough to win games IFFFFFFFFFFF the defense is even semi-halfway-somewhat competent.

Make no mistake.....the UTSA loss is on the shoulders of the defense and the implosion in the 3rd quarter of the LSU game is on the shoulders of the defense. The LSU game couldn't have went better.......until the defense gave up 4 long TDs in a span of 10 ******* minutes.

"The frequency at which the defense allows that"...is matched only by our total inability to cover kicks and punts. We would almost be better off kicking out of bounds for the penalty placement at the 35 every time.

I may not be reading correctly but these current stats (through 10/22) have our opponents averaging 22.75 yards on kickoffs and 2.67 yards on punts.

in premise, he's wrong on punts lumping them together....

kick off coverage is truly an "enigma"....his and my word....

it is what it is....neither of us coach....

our kick off coverage should never be an issue....and it is....that's just stupid in any capacity at this level....

The 22.75 yards is actually our opponents YPC average.

Here's something to chew on from that stat compilation: our opponent's combined QB rating is higher than our own. Who would've called that before the season started?

was my concern with, "this corching staph infection can only screw up this cast o' characters"

I now am leaning towards incompetence at the assistant level and the thumb at this point....

peckerwhore hopefully boned up on schematics and daws_n better hope the the thumb is secure...

we find out tomorrow....

YPC on 3rd-and-long is probably distressingly close to that. Could even be worse.
