RE: Week 8 Pick'em
CMU 10 @ Toledo 42 - CMU doesn't stand a chance, defense won't be able to stop Toledo
Miami 17 @ BGSU 21 - Home field advantage helps BGSU finally get their first conference win in a close one
Ohio 24 @ Kent St. 21 - Ohio in a close one
Akron 13 @ Ball St. 27 - And the worst decision of the year award goes to Akron for the terrible decision to burn an oar and then smash it on the ground. Their season continues to go downward.
Buffalo 3 @ NIU 7 - Toilet bowl matchup, NIU manages a TD and win.
EMU 14 @ #20 WMU 55 - EMU manages a couple of 4th quarter TD's against the backups.

CMU @ Toledo - CMU won't be able to consistently stop UT. 31-27
Miami @ BGSU - Miami is really, really, bad. 23-17
Ohio @ Kent St. - Ohio is not very good but Kent is worse. 20-10
Akron @ Ball St. - Should be a close game. 31-24
Buffalo @ NIU - NIU wins fairly easily. 42-28
EMU @ #20 WMU - This could get ugly but I think EMU plays well. 41-24

For WMU (and MAC) fans can we get a Pick'em on BYU at Boise tonight, a big game, as Boise tries to remain in the hunt for the Cotton Bowl... The line I saw was Boise by 7.

I just hope BYU can pull out a win. No way I will be able to stay up for it, but when my youngest wakes up during the night, I'll catch some of the game while I'm feeding him. I usually take the first turn.

RE: Week 8 Pick'em
Underline=Beating the spread; Bold=Winning the Game

BYU @ Boise State -7
*It's at Boise and they're poised to win this big game they have almost every year. Boise wins by a couple TDs in the end.

Eastern Michigan @ Western Michigan -23.5
*The Fighting Emoos are a real fighting team this year. Even though it's not on the B&W prison field in Ypsi, it's going to be a tough battle for WMU, as the Broncos need the 4th Q to pull away by 17 points.

Central Michigan @ Toledo -10
*Toledo and CMU get into a shootout battle, but Toledo pulls away by 2 TDs in the end, as CMU falls a little short.

Akron @ Ball State -3.5
*Akron does the MAC East proud by pulling it out over BSU by a FG in the end. I'm not confident of this; could go either way.

Buffalo @ Northern Illinois -21.5
*Buffalo's way too huge an underdog for this. NIU's down and out about themselves at this point, and Buffalo steps up to lose by ONLY 3 TDs, max.

Ohio -3.5 @ Kent State
*Close game ends in an Ohio TD after being down a FG. Ohio pulls it out just in time like a senior when porking a freshman girl in a limo at prom.

Miami-OH @ BGSU -4
*BGSU had a hard-fought rivalry game and almost kinda upset Toledo. Miami's played tough games all the way through. They got their first win and want more. And they will get it.

RE: Week 8 Pick'em
UT over CMU (This game will tell us if the season will really come down to the WMU/UT game Week 12 after all)
Miami over BGSU (Think people are underrating Miami. They're bad, but they're getting better each week)
Ohio over Kent St (An average MAC team should beat a below-average MAC team)
Ball St over Akron (Think this is the worst I've seen the MAC East in my 7 years or so of really following the MAC as a whole)
NIU over UB (NIU's shown the past couple games they're not as bad as their record indicates)
WMU over EMU (I hope EMU wins the rest of their games after this)

The season will likely come down to the WMU/Toledo game no matter what happens this weekend. Even if CMU wins Saturday, a Toledo win over WMU would create a three way tie (assuming all three teams won out in other games). At that point it could very well come down to the Miami/UB midweek matchup in November to decide who wins the MACW and (likely) the MACC, due to the crossover tiebreaker.

Right now the crossover records of CMU/UT/WMU are:

CMU: 4-5
Toledo: 4-5
WMU: 3-5

I'm not sure how this may or may not impact your picks, but based off this tweet it looks like Woodson is probable for Saturdays game.

Doesn't take much to scare Todd. He is more of a worry wart than I am and that's saying a lot.

CMU 31 @ Toledo 38. This is a game we can win, but only if we avoid the slow start that has almost become a trademark this season.

Miami 27 @ BGSU 24. Could go ether way.

Ohio 28 @ Kent St. 24.

Akron 26 @ Ball St. 31.

Buffalo 17 @ NIU 34

EMU 28 @ #20 WMU 41 Given the history with these teams, an upset is possible.

Todd, stop worrying. He predicted the same thing for the WMU-Akron game.

Miami is young, but has been losing alot of close games. Really, really bad? Maybe - well see CMU in a couple weeks. MU now 2-2 in conference play.

I really think people put too much stock into BG hanging tough in a rivalry game last week. I mean, they lost like by 96 points to Memphis.

Miami is really, really what?? So then the math would be that CMU is like, umm...oh my....

Oh, and this isn't hindsight, I called you on this BS when you first posted it.

Miami is coming on - will be something to watch next year.
