Crowd stayed. Not a well played game but still an entertaining one. Congrats to the Rockets.

Glad we won that game as pathetic as we played on defense. The DC just dropped to Lou West status.
Not going to complain about the officiating - I guess getting maybe 1/3 of the offensive holding by BG is about right for us. Guys getting tackled all game long when they get past the slow BG linemen.
Had to watch this on ESPN3. American Sports Network - those are the best you can come up with to call a game. I never want to hear the term "running down hill" again. Heard it enough today to last a lifetime.

RE: BG at UT game thread
It's the "cable" syndrome. Took many years for cable shows to meet the quality of the networks, all the talent so spread out. So many games, the announcing talent is going to be depleted too I imagine. I imagine they'd be fine as conference announcers. It does present as a more viable career option though. Be a good degree for the University to offer through the communications dept.
"Officiating:" it looked like we benefit from a phantom facemask penalty there at the end and I recall a nice missed holding call that spring a big run earlier in the game. I didn't notice anything particularly off.

Not proud of that one. Ugly as they get. It could be long afternoons vs western and central.

Has our defense stunk it up since DT Earl Moore got hurt?

It was a clear facemask, it just wasn't against Hunt. The BG LB grabbed the mask of the UT lineman who was downfield to block. Not only grabbed it, but pulled him into the end zone.

Ah, replay focused on Hunt. Eh, kid shouldn't punish himself too much. We'd have gotten in or we'd have gotten three.

RE: BG at UT game thread
The facemask was clear. They even called it on #2 - then the announcers for the game kept trying figure out where they grabbed Hunt's facemask. Even ran the replay twice. Still didn't see it when just above and to the left, the BG DB was throwing the Toledo lineman into the end zone by the face mask. Apparently can't hear the call or see what was right in front of them
Also made comments about why BG was pooch-kicking to Toledo. The idiots didn't even realize that one of the kicks was from the 20 yard line following the personal foul on BG for excessive celebration. They thought it was a pooch kick.

Not sure what all goes into that job. I imagine the network people have a lot in their earsbuds telling them what is happening on the field. These guys? Probably not in the same budget.
For these guys that are just coming in day of, then leaving for the next gig, I'm happy if they're positive, know a few details about the programs and their histories and seem to enjoy the job and visiting where ever they are, probably for the first and only time in their professional lives.
But yeah, let go of the cliches and just call what you see in plain language. That will usually go better.
Dustin Fox, I've enjoyed his coverage every time. I think he'll move up in the business.

I kept waiting for Logan to throw deep all game. I thought all of the throws to the side were setting up something deep.
That game was more exciting than I was expecting it to be. I'll take it.

Actually he did. Players of the Week are given by division. In addition to the BG punter getting the special teams player of the week for the MAC East, Falcon quarterback James Morgan was MAC East Offensive POTW.
