The football program at ol MU aint what it used to be regardless of what some Marshall fans seem to think or want to think. Add to that the mess with the head coaches position , the sudden departure for whatever reasons of Bob Pruett along with the lack of information flowing in the search for the new head man.

Basketball , well Ron Jirsa came within one game of matching the all time worst record (held by Dwight Freeman) this season , of course this is the same guy that took a program that Tubby Smith built into a winner at UGA and ran it into the ground so fast that Vince Dooley fired him at the end of Jirsa's second season. So dont look for anything too much different next season ( unless some illegal activities take place, the normal way a program rebounds overnight)

Baseball..oh man are some of you in for a treat here that is if you dare come to Huntington to see your team play on a field that most Little Leagues fields put to shame . The Marshall facility has to be one of the worst in the country and at this time there is nothing but MORE talk going on about a new facility ( which has been discussed for the last 20 years) Rice , ECU and Houston should boycott for fear of injury.

Minor sports. Tennis , THE HERD ladys , well here we see something at least in the positive catagory

Golf...oh this is a wonderful area, the Marshall mens program has NEVER been to the NCAA's under the current coach ..NEVER. There have been two players over the years that made it but the TEAM has NEVER made the tourni...now it will face HOUSTON for starters one of the top programs in the nation but heck the MU linksters are accustomed to finishing in the bottom 1/4 of most fields so nothing should be different. The home course, Guyan Golf and Country Club is a top notch old style golf course which some CUSA has played by virtue of the Marshall Invitational

Girls Golf, beginning their third year , a young program , with a litlle luck they should surpass the men in another year.
Track , not much here again
Swimming , again not much

So whats left in what is to mention...WOMENS BASKETBALL , now the pride and joy of the university under Royce Chadwick for now until someone comes after him and with his good friend Dan Angel now run off as the president of the university that time will come sooner than later.

In the last two years Marshall has lost The president of the University , the mens head basketball coach , and now the head football coach , at least the AD is still there.

Well guys I wouldnt be shaking in my boots just yet with the arrival of THE HERD by any means unless your programs are somehow in worse shape...
